My father had a surgery on Hiatal hernia and now has a piece of metal in the middle of his belly, around belly button. He was told to wear a medical belt (around belly button)for some time after surgery and if he had to carry something heavy. The surgery must have been 6-9 months ago. Now we began working out together (he is 51). I want to know. Should he even do that? Both of us are afraid of worsening his condition (which is overall alright). He always wears belt (a medical one but it looks and probably works like the ones that powerlifters use) when we train. I also try to reduce the amount of exercises where it is necessary to use abdominal muscles.
make him deadlift heavy everyday to speed up the recovery and strengthen the muscles

If he has good insurance, find a good PT. That's literally the reason they exist.
A good son would introduce his father in this situation with BPC-157 to help heal his wounds.
Are you a good son?
Best source?
Why would you type this out? Please explain your reasoning. It's not funny.
He is obsessed with Black folk.
BBC threads on /gif/ have molded this anons brains into a moronic abomination seeking the vilest fetishes to satisfy his addiction. He is a sick man.
He is paid to by israelites.
Yeah make sure he 1rm’s every week to measure his strength.
God the level of moronation on this board.
What kind of homosexual goes on IST and asks this question instead of giving his fricking SURGEON a call? That's the only person who can answer this question. I just had laparoscopic mesh hernia surgery myself, my doc said I can start easing back in at 6 weeks. The internet seems to confirm this in general, and at 6 months there should be no restrictions, but every person varies, as does every surgery, hernia, and repair procedure.
Call the fricking surgeon and ask
>What kind of homosexual goes on IST and asks this question instead of giving his fricking SURGEON a call?
I thought that on /fit there are serious people who commit to sports like I do. I'm already sorry I made a mistake and created this thread because it's nothing but abomination
>Call the fricking surgeon and ask
I will. Thank you anon. At least someone with a soul in this thread
breast
yeah but he needs to take it very slow and build up gradually, if he feels any pain or sensation if tearing, he should stop straight away. 6 months is plenty of time to heal.
t.surgeon
> if he feels any pain or sensation if tearing, he should stop straight away
this is exactly how we're proceeding. if there is any pain, then we change the exercise in a way that it doesn't hurt anymore, or drop it all together.
>6 months is plenty of time to heal.
I talked to him about it and apparently the surgery was in January 2023, so it is almost a year since it happened.
Thanks for an answer! I also try to make him call the place where he got the surgery and ask if he can talk to his surgeon, but he's being lazy about it. Though on monday I will surely make him call them and ask what's up
