I recently squatted again for the first time in a few years. Nothing huge, 90kgs, about my body weight for 5 reps. It was horrible. I felt like my spine and legs were going to break and I felt it for hours afterwards. Not a pleasant lift at all- plus I could feel it tugging on my healed hernia. Why do people do this shit?

concentrate on improving your glutes and mainly your core (all the way around your waist)

      >back hyperextensions (hold weight during for overload)
      >wood choppers
      >decline sit ups (hold weight behind head for overload)

your core is shit and it's why you can't progress
if you do progress it will be shit and you'll hurt your back

      I've been there
only thing that worked was working on the muscles I didn't want to
I didn't want to because I sucked at the exercises
I sucked at the exercises because they were under-developed
squat & deadlift exposed the under development

      good luck anons

        >I didn't want to because I sucked at the exercises
i hate training abs and it has always been the number one limiting factor on my squat.

Try ab exercises that aren't homosexual ass crunches or leg raises. Look up suitcase carries, they're great for your core especially if you want to strengthen it for your lifts. Go down the rabbit hole, you'll find ways to train your core that you won't mind, then eventually you'll think "well, I'm already doing core, what's a few leg raises gonna hurt?" Then you'll be strong and aesthetic

you have no idea if that is the issue.

Op is to vague as well. How long have he been stuck on 95kg? A couple of weeks? And how long have he done the changes the say he has made?

Worst case scenario, your squat hasn't stalled. It's just progressing at a rate slow enough that you can't just add 1-2 kg. It might starting climbing again after taking a week or two long break from training and deloading

sit ups (hold weight behind head for overload)
Rectus Abdominus opposes the torso extension during a squat and hence is not used at all. The Psoas Major and minor also oppose the hip extension during the movement and hence are not used. It will not improve the squat.
        >>back hyperextensions (hold weight during for overload)
If he's doing deadlifts, this is entirely unnecessary.
        >>wood choppers
A moronic exercise. No reason for anyone to waist their time for this.

This is the sort of stupid advice you need to watch out for, they say a lot of nonsense and make it sound useful

You're core is neglected, fix it

Not gonna lie, I was stalled out too, actually lost a bit of progress, but it's because of my form. I kept my feet too far apart, but now I keep them shoulder width or even a bit more narrow. Feel it a lot more in my glutes and feel a lot more stable. I PRd a couple of days ago, and also PRd yesterday on diddlies, and I can attribute those to correcting my form. Also split squats really helped push me through my plateau

you probably stalled hard on some beginner program. do 5/3/1. you will need to do squat sets with 20+ reps once you get into the groove of things. then after three circles or something test it again. 95kg will feel easy i promise

I was stuck at 265. My gf invited me to fo Yoga and have been doing that consistently this semester. I can now squat 315 much deeper. A lot of problems are due to tight hip flexors
