I do push ups using my bed as weight, and hold it with my neck

I used to do like 3x25 of those neck curls off of my bed with no weight and neck visibly grew a half inch. got a neck harness and there's been little to no difference. im a boxer, though, and I can definitely take punches a lot better now.

I used to do it for judo, but I don't see any reason to keep doing it after I stopped doing judo.

Thick ass neck only makes you look big if the rest of your body is big. If it's overdeveloped compared to the rest of your body, you'll look like you have some kind of congenital defect. Same thing with huge traps on an otherwise scrawny frame, BTW.

Your neck should develop proportionately just from static tension during heavy ass compounds, if you do them. If you don't, training it isometrically (i.e. pushing your head against some static resistance like your own hands in multiple directions) is much safer than wiggling your cervical spine under load, plus it can be done literally any time anywhere.

I used to train it hard 3x a week, same as forearms, calves, abs, etc.
Since a few months ago I've been deloading and prioritising recovery and I've been making gains again. I'll start slowly reintroducing these movements into my training over time. I want to buy a neck harness soon
But yeah when I was training neck I made good gains

Yeah I do it 3 times a week or 6 times a week. My neck's getting stronger and bigger so I look more masculine, still got several months to go tho

as long as you are using just plates loading them precisely is a b***h. if you're gonna have big jumps in weight whenever you go up, you need to have a wider rep range and that works better in higher reps.
      >better than
with training neck you gotta find a middle ground between save for your spine and effective for neck muscles. neck muscles recover quick, you can get away with training them six days a week if you do it right, no need to minmax weight and reprange too much. just go higher rep and take some time to get to the same end point

I train it 3x a week of neck curls. One 4x10 at a heavy weight, one 3x20 at a light weight, then one more of 3 till failure in between the heavy and light weight. Went from a pencil neck as in a good inch to inch and a half from my jaw in, to my neck being at the same width as my jaw

No. My neck and traps are so big natty that people call me out for roids because I have "super responded" even though I literally dont even train them.
