Try a short buzz cut to get yourself warmed up to the idea. You won't miss those flacid scraggles. You can also use minoxidil on your beard to help it come in if you're going to try to grow it out.
If you're going to try to treat the balding, you would have to hit it with everything. Transplant plus fin/dut, min, and microneedling.

the doc definitely fricked you over because fin might have saved your hair, it has saved mine for the last 7 years with zero side effects. min is absolutely not a long term solution, moronic to even suggest it.

if you look really awful bald, consider a wig. they make pretty good ones nowadays. it's gonna be awkward as shit, though, so you gotta take that into account.

If you're white (European), literally just give it time.
The only reason you shouldn't wait (if you're white) is if you're already past age 25. Most white men don't grow much past neckbeards, sideburns, and wispy moustaches before that age. Beards really fill in after it.
