      All things you consider "gains" are fleeting, whether they be muscle atrophy, strength or cardiovascular. In time your body will decay and whither, through exercise you only slow down this process. Even if you look for solace outside of lifting, creating art, building a family, starting a movement or maybe a little empire the end result is always null. Do not despair my friend, learn to live in the moment and do your 97 push ups 🙂 also
