horses eat oatmeal, are you a horse? if no then dont bother
plus oatmeal is a carb and carbs are toxic to the body, they are full of sugar and spike your insulin
i suggest you follow keto, its the best way to lose fat and be healthy

It's much better than what most people eat for breakfast but don't think you can eat as much as you want. Despite being healthy and satiating oatmeal still has a good amount of calories.
If you want to lose fat and don't care about losing muscle just skip breakfast completely.

It's a whole food, so better than American sugar 'cereal' or doughnuts, but it's decently calorically dense. For weight loss a better breakfast would be lowfat yogurt with fruit, or an egg white omelette with vegetables.

Well said. I'd also like to add that for this reason "volume eating" is a meme. The amount of food you put down your throat doesn't make you feel full

            >eating a pound of chicken won't make you more full than eating two ounces of chicken

Really? Explain to me why I can eat 15 McDonald's burgers and feel hungry but feel full after eating one PB&J + a protein shake.

I could feel more full by increasing volume past that point, sure, but my point is that I can feel full by eating LESS.

If you dont feel full after 15 burgers,
              A. You are lying
              B. You have an eating disorder
              C. See a doctor
              D. Fullness is not the same as satiation

In the original post I replied to, Anon was comparing the satiation levels of different foods. More of one item will make you feel more FULL (correct usage this time) but satiation is reached much earlier. You do not need to est until you're full.

I would say doesn't have a lot of satiation unless you mix it with a lot of water and eat it the consistency of snot. It's probably fine for higher and mid bodyfat ranges. But if you're trying to cut into the lower ranges 8-12% you'll probably want to leave it out.

Been having overnight oats with some chia, flax and kefir for breakfast the last few months and lost weight. Totally cut out sugar and junk carbs though.
Steelcut is supposed to be better, but requires some cooking. Anything other than wholegrain organic is most likely processed to the point you might as well be eating sugar covered rubbish.

No it's mainly eaten for cheap and convenient calories. There's barely anything else in oats apart from carbs and some fiber.

It's great for losing weight, just eat a sensible amount and know what the calories are.

I like to add raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and peanut butter to mine. The fruity taste mixed with the peanut butter is so good, it's pretty much my favourite meal of the day.

When I began a new job, I changed up how I ate breakfast to be fast in the mornings.
I started eating 1 cup oatmeal and 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast every single day.
If you eat this way, and eat a healthy lunch and dinner, you will lose weight.
1 cup oatmeal and 2 eggs, maybe egg whites instead, and you will be good for breakfast.
