OHP

>Literally 10x harder than any other lift
Why is this? All of my other lifts are near or over 100lbs while I struggle to OHP even 80lbs.

Wait, how does OHP works the Quads? Are you supposed to use momentum from the quads? Am I missing something here.

It's actually the other way around. You two are just DYELs. Sad, but true.

Why are you already complaining when you've been lifting for like 3 months? Man up

OHP is uncomfortable but for me the scariest of the big 4 is the squat

Just do weight that feels reasonable if you try to ego lift you will frick yourself up over time. I recommend pressing in the smith machine to target your shoulders directly and then maybe have it at the end of your workout or something.

    >OHP progress stalled for three weeks in a row
I HATE THIS DOGSHIT LIFT WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT?!?!?!?!?!

Because the muscles used are relatively small and you have no leverage

I think the better question is why the frick no one but me and my gf do OHP.

I have never seen anyone else at my gym do them.

      because its a humbling lift

Why is it humbling? Because of its low weight?

Id say thats a big part of it. Also the lack of the ability to cheat, unless you are the type to do a push press/standing bench and lie to yourself that you got it strict

            >unless you are the type to do a push press/standing bench and lie to yourself that you got it strict
I don't know the difference. I just stand up straight and use my upper torso to lift the bar above my head and back down again.

then you are doing it right. just don't lean back like you're neo from the matrix and don't use your legs and you're good to go

It just fell out of popular fashion
Everyone knows what a bench is few even know about an ohp

It will only work if your sticking point is the 2nd half of the lift, for most people the sticking point is the first half of the lift
