      As far as hunger goes, most carb-laden foods make you more hungry - in an unnatural, painful sort of way. People that have done Keto can tell you about the difference between "carb hunger" (pain) and "normal hunger"(discomfort). It's a temporary effect that wears off after a few hours. So, by going 18 hours without eating, hunger decreases after the initial burst. Another option is low-carb and eating through-out the day.

      The more nuanced biological impact of food not being present in your tracts is another story.

    For me it's lean beef and chicken. I made jerky and chicken bites (spiced & diced then fried chicken breasts) on the weekend and yesterday I ate almost nothing else, not doing keto or even trying to cut but it would be so easy.

      I've been doing one meal a day for four years and I assure you this isn't the case. The couple times I've been on vacation and at an all-you-can-eat restaurant and said "today, I am going to eat until I am full, just because I am on vacation and I can" I've been able to trivially eat well over 6k calories in one sitting. Admittedly, I do a lot of cardio, so my one meal is usually 2500-3000 calories anyways so it's really just eating a double meal, but as a recovered fatty you still keep the ability to eat several days' worth of food in one sitting.
