I'm someone who was already very critical of my bf% and thought I was at 15%bf before my cut.
Now being a few months into it, I can tell I was closer to 20%bf.
People REALLY underestimate their bf% and over estimate their lean body mass.
Your probably anywhere from 5-10% more bf% than you think you are.

DEXA scanners aren't that accurate unless under absolute perfect conditions.
There's been plenty of videos posted on youtube of people messing up scanners.

But it should not be the only way to measure bf%.

Yeah, a mirror and bf% calipers.
Those tend to be the most reliable and all you really need.
BUT you need experience with knowing what varying levels of bf% looks like on varying levels of lean body mass to really get a good idea.
There is no easy way to tell bf% without some experience.
You just have to keep loosing/gaining fat and be honest with yourself.
$100 isn't that much but im gunna be pretty disappointed if it's essentially smart scale stats. I guess it gives me a good test of it's accuracy, if nothing else.

Having a small layer of fat over the lower abs makes you look more athletic imo. Otherwise, you'll look like you're either juiced or a gymcel. What's important is the upper abs and size of lower abs (they should be visible but not necessarily pronounced).
