>only six hours of sleep

Kek. Why do people listen to this guy. That’s fricking horrible for you. I’m college I would sleep ten hours and felt amazing. Models also sleep around that much to keep their looks. Why on earth is anyone listening to this guy for health advice? It’s almost like listening to jocko

There might be something to it. I noticed my libido works only when I don't sleep much and my mind is fricked up from the tiredness. When I sleep more than 7 hours I feel like an eunuch.

Maybe I’m you don’t feel good because when you sleep over seven hours your body is repairing itself after finally getting adequate sleep. Just like how muscles hurt when they are repairing.

Didn’t he express that studies showed no difference between people who regularly get 8 hours of sleep vs 6 hours of sleep. That the most important thing is to stick with a schedule? Any moron knows circadian rhythm is everything, for those that experienced jet lag. In conclusion: OP is a moron.

That’s literally just another reason not to take studies seriously. It’s like people will believe the most nonsensical claims if a study says something. I dare anyone to sleep six hours for a week and then sleep ten hours for a week to see if it makes a difference in how they feel.

I literally feel like shit if I go back to sleep when I naturally wake up. 6hr 30min sleep master race reporting in.

Your body is likely just naturally repairing the damage form low sleep has caused. That’s what you feel. After a long time of not sleeping enough and finally getting a good nights sleep I feel very tired but I can tell that I am just healing becuase if I keep sleeping well as in long then I feel normal.

I know people who sleep horribly like sometimes even less than 6 hours and that’s just how they live and It blows my mind because I get 8 hrs every day and if I go under that I feel the difference the entire day

https://hubermanlab.com/toolkit-for-sleep/ lets see what he says and if he is moronic or not.

All of it sounds reasonable, but then he says

    >We might be night owls at 15 but become “morning people” as we age or need 6 hours a night in summer and 7-8 in winter. It will vary.

Which is technically true, but it's a bit moronic of him to just say "it will vary" and not clarify that some will need a lot more than 6 hours.

If jocko willing went on his podcast do you think huberman would tell jocko that his lifestyle of sleeping 4 hours is not healthy? Or would he make up something about how maybe jocko cs body only needs grout hours?

I've been forcing myself to go to bed early so I can wake up and work on my side job before going to my b***h dayjob and have been averaging a lot of 7 hour nights of sleep. Sort of sucks ass but I trudge on and it's hard to sleep in anymore.
I did see something awhile back that people who average 7hrs/night are less depressed but I usually chalk this up to them being busy and not having time to mope around.

I naturally wake up after 6-7 hours of sleep. For some reason I can't sleep for 8 hours anymore.

there are many factors that influence the quality of sleep(screen and light exposure; exercise and activity; food timing, quality and quantity; breathing quality, quantity and general patterns (big one I think) (most people might be overbreathing)), if you have better sleep then likely you'd need less of it?

don't force yourself to sleep less, find what it is that you might do to make your sleep better and you should naturally start needing shorter sleep times
(for myself, for example, I think the problem may lie in my breathing, hence I'm looking into hatha and other yogas, buteyko and other breathing retraining practices - the people in the Buteyko community report needing about 1 hour of sleep less per 10 seconds control pause increase (hold your breath at the end of a natural exhale until you feel the first urge to breathe back in) starting with about 11 hours when one's control pause is in the 1-10 second range)
