Not op but doing this now, again. Was fasting before lent to fit for a rented tux and continued rolling 48hr fasts for lent. Skin is still there.
Also fasted on and off for four years after loosing 60lbs from a 210 max. From 210 to 150 was done with a diet change and activity increase. That took about 3 years. Started fasting late 2020 and cut down to 118 (5'4 manlet) at my lowest in 2022. Doing a plank then, I'd have visible loose skin. Standing up I look ok unless I was just sitting down. Then you can see slight skinfolds. Fast forward 2 years with continuous on and off fasting the skin is still there. For me fasting doesn't seem to consume scar tissue and that might be the key factor. If you blimp up to the point where you get stretch marks then it's unlikely autophagy will fix loose skin. The damage is done and the repair was scaring. Also doesn't help that I'm 34 now. Worth it though. I run and bike shirt off and dgaf.

other than surgery, is there anything that can prevent loose skin? I "only" have 100lbs to lose.
Be younger than 25. I started my weight loss at 27.
How do I avoid insomia while fasting for prolonged period?
I can fast just fine. I've done it before for a few days.
It is just that if I don't eat long enough, I become super alert and woken up to the point I cannot really sleep. Also, I wake up super early like in 4 hours which is troublesome.
I've been having trouble falling asleep since I was a teenager. These days, if I am not physically tired or drunk out of my mind, I take 2 mg melatonin before going to bed. Fasting does not seem to give me any more insomnia than I already had, not even while fasting for 14 days.
>Brother was over 500lbs before working out with me >He's lost over 140lbs in the last 8 months >He knows he's gonna have loose skin >He starts eating like shit again
I don't know how to get him out of his funk over his skin. I told him it won't be bad until he's down at least another 200 pounds or so, but he keeps stressing out about something that hasn't happened yet
he sees fat people all the time, but doesn't see people with loose skin all the time, so he thinks fatness is more socially acceptable.
that's true, but he's also a b***h for making decisions based on social acceptability instead of his health. Tell him that.
also: with the new nightmare weightloss drugs, loose skin is going to be more prevalent. Treatments for it, too.
if you only have 100lbs to lose there's a good chance you have no loose skin unless you are like 5 feet tall. good chance you will have permanent stretch marks though, although they do fade over time
To avoid loose skin you lose weight at a slow rate. Aim for half a lb per week, it will take years of what feels like iron discipline but you can completely return to a healthy and normal look. You’ll in fact look good, really good, if you maintain a good musculature during the process.
Stretch marks can be tanned/needled away.
I dare say losing weight too quickly will almost guarantee more loose skin than you otherwise would have.
I'd say loose skin can be mitigated by:
Keto/carnivore
periods of fasting
moderate weight loss progression
red light therapy
grounding
high-quality sleep
every progress pic of someone who lost a lot of weight that's my proof, if they have the beer belly barrel look they have no loose skin or if any its extremely minimal.
If I just used myself as proof that's only one person, fricking b***h frick you.
Six week dry fast
Meaning no food or water consumption at all except showers and brushing teeth of course
Your body will kill the fat cells and remove them. Also it will remove all unnecessary tissues and cells like stretch marks
Pretty fricking gross. But whatever, at least I conquered the demon.. now I’m bulking at 3-4K calories trying to build as much muscle as possible idc ima try bloatmaxxing at this point. I get more attention from women when I get on creatine and start bulking. I guess they like the “hunky” (I call it chubby) look better then skinny
Now I’m 183 lbs bulking. It’s my belly button/ under pec / overhang / + appendectomy when I was young did not help at all. Whatever, when I was a fatass I thought my loose skin would look way worse than it actually turned out to be. Still tho, you will never be happy/content but ce la vie

Proud of you bro
You have to dry fast dawg
It can be a week or more
At least do 7 days straight

I lost 160lbs. Didn't get loose skin, OP. People get loose skin because they go from one extreme to the other too quickly.
Id rather stay fat than look like right one
same, if its inevitable that I will have ballsack skin for losing the 100lbs I'd rather just go powershitter mode.

he's probably healthier on the left. roiding that hard and that quickly? oof
you can't

stretch marks aren't really that ugly anyway, they might even look cool, loose skin is infinitely worse.

losing weight at a slow rate doesn't prevent loose skin, if you overstretch your skin you overstretch your skin.
people who have hanging bellies arm flaps and flapjack breasts are done with.
Where’s the proof it doesn’t work, I’ve been going slow and my stomach looks pretty put together after 100 pounds gone
how did you store your fat and what weight did you start at?
Pretty evenly distributed, guess I was lucky in that way, was always told I “held it well”
I was 330, I’m 230 rn
that's why then, you were "solid" from the start, if you only had it in a hang over the belt belly you'd have loose skin.

Do you know this from experience? If not shut the frick up with your doom and gloom.

Started at 26 (28 now)
5’11 330 lbs to 175 lbs
Im 5’11” 360-380 pounds at 25 years old
I did a week long dry fast before and lost over 20 pounds
Make sure you’re hitting your protein. That’s what I wish I woulda did when I first got started
hanging belly = loose skin
Yep

You look great bro.
Congrats on the progress, but I think you should gain some weight, you're frighteningly skinny
I did, I’m post above (183 lbs bulking)
I had to go skeleton town before I was comfortable enough to gain fat again.
Now I’m 183 lbs bulking. It’s my belly button/ under pec / overhang / + appendectomy when I was young did not help at all. Whatever, when I was a fatass I thought my loose skin would look way worse than it actually turned out to be. Still tho, you will never be happy/content but ce la vie
dont get fat is what i do
Very nice, the famed Godskin Noble look. Keep it up!
