ketards, carnitards, plant based goycattles, longevity autists and controlled oppositions (every single form of counter initiatic groups) really hate ray peat, he's only enjoyed by broscientists, that's enough to convince me that he's the closest to truth
Yet he was an advocate against his lifestyle via his own death
Don't know who this guy is/was, but he's stupid.
Eating collagen doesn't mean shit, because the body will just break it down to its componentns and not use as a complement for OUR collagen. This has already been proven.
>peat is stupid because someone else wrote something
https://raypeat.com/articles/articles/gelatin.shtml
>It happens that gelatin is a protein which contains no tryptophan, and only small amounts of cysteine, methionine, and histidine. Using gelatin as a major dietary protein is an easy way to restrict the amino acids that are associated with many of the problems of aging.
Translation: eating PROTEIN is good.
WOW!
ray peat is a grifter who ignores all the outcome studies (if you replace your fats in your diet with a ton of seed oils, what happens to mortality/health and disease presentation? All the studies and meta studies that directly measure health outcomes show the same thing: They are absolutely neutral to health except in some contexts, in which they literally reduce mortality). Ray comes out with a YouTube video about feeding mice random shit in the 1950s, does a classic correlation-is-not-causation (LOOK AT THIS GRAPH OF SEED OILS AND FAT PEOPLE GOING UP, STRANGE HMMM? I wonder what it would look like if you plotted sugar alongside it...). He's a pseudo science grifter. The literature is very unambiguous about seed oils.
THAT SAID. Hydrolyzed collagen is one supplement out of all the other bullshit that actually has some decent science behind it, mainly for healthy skin, not sure what his bizzaro claim about it is.
When you eat amino acids, a small % get incorporated into your collagen, which is what structures healthy skin. You lose it as you get older, saggy old people skin.
If you eat actual chunks of hydrolyzed collagen, it turns out that a much more significant portion of these collagen chunks actually get directly incorporated into your collagen without being broken down (the rest go on into the amino acid pathway). It's a significant amount compared to just eating amino acids, and this has been demonstrated in vitro and in vivo. In addition, subjective and objective measures of skin appearance show a significant increase in skin health appearance.
It's not a miracle anti-aging drug, but it does help with collagen and skin.
>(LOOK AT THIS GRAPH OF SEED OILS AND FAT PEOPLE GOING UP, STRANGE HMMM? I wonder what it would look like if you plotted sugar alongside it...
Sugar consumption went down.
Eating protein without tryptophan is good, that's his point, moron
Why? What‘s wrong with tryptophan?
I can't really decipher much of his articles as they're technical but what I do know is eating raw carrots everyday has given me proper creamy poos that slide out with ease and barely need wiping
all that matters
i really think that the quality of your shits is the best signal of how healthy your diet is
japanese and italians eat pretty fricking peaty. lots of caffeine, carbs, vegetables and lean fish [and olive oil for the italians, which peat said is good for you]. op is a tard for bringing up italians, almost makes me think he is just a peater taking the piss
On the internet you get a lot of autists and narcissists, both groups have severe issues blocking them from understanding what's likely true, autists because they have trouble understanding context, narcissists because they're predisposed to thinking THEY found out the TRUTH, THEY are the smartests ones, THEY and sho on and sho forth.
If you want to know if somebody talking about diets is right, just use what I call the the Italian-Japanese test: take all the information they know, and use that to understand whether the traditional Italian or Japanese diet is bad for longevity. If it is, then the guy is full of shit, because we have literally decades of data that says the Italian and Japanese a) live quite long lives and b) they've only gotten fatter/less healthy the more their diets have been contaminated by western/american slop.
So if you say somebody telling you pasta is sooo bad, it makes you fat and diabetic, just point out that the Italians aren't particularly fat or diabetic or frail and they've gotten more so the more they've deviated from their original diet, so it can't really be that bad.
Or olive oil.
Or legumes.
Or fish.
Or poultry.
Or...you get what I mean.
Same with Japanese people. Or Hong Kong.
Sir this is a fitness board not a longevity board. Japs are malnourished manlets and Italians might as well not exist in the fitness sphere.
I doubt that a diet for longevity and a diet for fitness look particularly different aside from quantities and simply adjusting the macros.
>I doubt that a diet for longevity and a diet for fitness look particularly different aside from quantities and simply adjusting the macros.
You'd be wrong.
Long life =/= health =/= athletic performance
Avicenna already knew that.
There's so many other factors you aren't accounting for, it makes me believe you slipped and fell into your own narcissism trap with the "Italian-jap" test
>topsoil depletion
>contaminants
>microplastics
>culture
>being around your own people and not a depressive multiculti shithole
These are all factors which don't necessarily even equate to what food is being consumed which affect longevity
You didn't get the point of the test: the point isn't to prove that the Japanese or Italian diets are better than other diets, I don't care about that. Or that there are no factors other than diet that matter when it comes to longevity.
The point is to prove that people who say x,y, and z are really bad for you are full of it if there are entire populations of decent size on the planet who do eat plenty of x,y, and z and have a decent average weight, decently healthy, and live long (and the first two were even better in the past, when they were more likely to stickto their own diet).
>poultry
>legumes
please stop this meme, shitalians eat a lot of dairy and pork alongside sweets
Lel, imagine thinking skinny = healthy. Also, in switzerland, the stereotype for being italian is being fat. Always has been, not just recently.
Mediterranean lifestyles are more laid back, less stress, lots of sun, fish, olive oils, more active: lots of walking etc
source?
Yes, lots of Bolognese also
