people really overestimate how much work it is to see big results with weights. they think you have to slave like a dog when you can just do like 3 sets of 10 just bicep curls or shoulder press and see a big change. they're under the impression that you have to spend 2 hours every day slaving in the gym when you can just do a set and take a piss and then get back to playing vidya.

The secret: 1 set to failure a week per muscle group is enough for decent gains for beginners/intermediate
3 sets to failure a week per muscle group is enough for intermediate/advanced (though it won't be optimal unless you're roiding if advanced).
To failure as in you actually can't continue with that weight. Getting help, doing negatives, or lowering the weight until you're completely gassed helps.
80% of the results come from the first 20% of effort.

I literally lift 25lbs dumbells, a 33 pound kettlebell, do pullups/dips/chinups/pushups and swim and every GF I've had has considered me a " muscular guy ", people at work will ask me if I play sports or workout
All you need is a basic amount of working out everyday and you'll look more fit than 95% of the population

Pretty much. I used to eat 3400+ a day and just maintain weight. maybe put on a lb here and there. If I had a week without eating as much i'd immediately deflate.
One nice thing is I always have abs though no matter what

My buddy eats like 1800 and weights 40 lbs heavier than me but never has abs. he's thicc tight solid . meanwhile im eatting 3400+ and can barely keep my weight on. Felt the same way, always told him i'd trade with him and he'd say the same with me. Eating gets expensive

its probably this. Ive been skinny all my life no matter what i ate. but i also do a frick ton of training so add that in with my metabolism and its a nightmare to gain weight.
even when i sleep all day sit on the couch and each junk i still have abs. so theres that. i havent lifted for 2 years since covid started and i still look very lean with abs. i just dont gain weight man. i actually lost weight
