If it keeps me from being completely immobile when I’m older, and helps with social life, hobbies, mental health, respect from peers, and general capabilities, then yeah.

um, yes it is. when you're 70 years old and you're frail as frick and need help to get out of a car and can't even walk on your own, you'll regret not lifting some sort of weight over your years.

      >actually falling for the strength meme
Strength is fricking moronic. Nobody cares about your 300 pound squat, you’re not a manual laborer, and you look like shit. You also can’t fight either, so enjoy not looking threatening or being threatening. But at least you can move more iron with your strong ass muscles.

Lifting for aesthetics is a meme that was invented by israelites to sell magazines whose target audience was homosexuals
        You're moronic.

Yeah shut up Black person good luck trying to push the weight past your fat fricking gut you earned from permabulking because you were too scared to lose any squat progress. You’ll never look good.

I started lifting because I needed to improve my fitness for my job.
Now I lift simply because I enjoy it.
At least I'm not infected with a brain parasite, chasing after an ideal that is nothing more than a israeli perversion designed to take money away from gullible morons such as yourself.

Romans weren't philosophers, they were sophists.
Roman elites all traveled to Greece to finish their schooling, because all the best teachers were Greek.

    Rip says shit like:
    >strength is the most important thing in life
    >strength is how you interact with your environment
    >strong people are harder to kill and more useful in general
because he's a strength program salesman.

Meanwhile, the most strength your average first-worlder needs in his everyday life is to carry is a 20kg luggage when traveling once in a blue moon, and maybe help a buddy move a couch. You don't need a 200kg squat for that shit.

If you ever need to help your buddy move a big-ass couch up the stairs to a second floor, even as a completely untrained homosexual, your limiting factor will rarely be lack of strength. It will be you heart pounding like a motherfricker, sweat pouring down your eyes and needing 15 minutes to catch your breath before you can go down to bring the chairs too.

Which leads me to believe it's actually people with good cardio/oxygen capacity that are more useful in general (and harder to kill too, it it's not furniture but crates of ammo that you have to carry up the stairs in an occupied high riser in Bumfrick, Ukraine).

Every man needs some strength to have sex. The thought of "normal" people having sex in the modern west both raises anatomical questions and makes me throw up a little

Also, if you leave the upper middle class software dev social sphere/relatively fit young tradie social sphere that IST seems to exist in, you'll find that practically everyone now has chronic pain and various minor to moderate disabilities.

I would phrase it more like "strength is a precondition for everything else in lfie" rather than "strength is the most important thing in life" but then I didn't make $10 million selling strength training merchandise did I

It is, you have to remember that for some people sitting on a toilet is a 1RM squat. Once you're at that level you're not able to do anything. Of course law of diminishing of returns apply. If you can go from squatting the bar to squatting 180kg your quality of life will improve immensively.
