What the frick do I do about a pinched nerve? It's fricking my productivity in the ass, I can't do anything. So far, dry needling and heat and stretches. Anyone have any tips? I wanna rope.

bro are you me
I literally woke up today with massive pain in the back of my neck and my upper right back and it's been driving me nuts all day, can't stretch it, can't heat pad it, can't get rid of it with painkillers, it's just killing me

breh I literally can't rotate my neck without pain
Take ibuprofen
One arm hangs, then rotate to one most opposite to another while holding on
Don't put all your body weight on it at once, see how you feel
go to a physical therapist you absolute baboons
Sleep with a heating pad all night, it'll save your life. You need to relax the muscles in your neck to unfrick your neck.
I get this shit all the time in my neck and also have a bulged L4/L5, mostly thanks to scoliosis, it's so fricked. So I've tried dozens of things and for me there were only a few effective ones: Firstly, staying active as soon as you notice it, so you don't start overcompensating and relax the area a bit more. I do this by taking long walks or (virtually no resistance) on the cross trainer for an hour or so. I also use diclofenac and ibuprofen and an IR lamp twice a day for 10-15 minutes.
dealing with this too.
feels like my rhomboid is on fire, and travels up through my shoulder/armpit area into my upper tricep
some days feels ok. others feel like it burning or just weak.
am i done for? might give chiropractor a try
Chiropractor will help but you gotta find a way to relax the muscles too. You gotta basically stop working out. You ever meet people who can't do shit cuz they've got pinched nerves? It's cuz they just kept trucking on vs doing the rehab and fixing the problem.
ive stopped for about 2 months total so far…but you are right. i was stubborn and lifted through the pain for about a full month before stopping.
maybe i damaged the nerve? i remember when i stopped, i had the worst pain and even some mild swelling in my upper tricep. that has at least gone away
Is your problem better now?? Did stopping for two months fix it? That's an existential amount of time to not work out.
the problem is slightly better but there are still days i have pain. i did a neck x ray and had slight compression of my C4 and C5 vertebrae. they said it was spondylitic changes of the neck, but early onset cause im 28. have a family history of neck issues
I just got out of my chiropractors office and he said to do tens unit on the area. Basically you take them and put them above and below the pinched area on the same side. So if you're pinched in the neck, you put the first sticky above the neck and then further down your back on your shoulder meat area. Don't put it across your spine but above and below. And let it rip. I'm gonna try that later. Also going to see my chiro twice a week plus dry needling.
yea im gonna see a chiro. i did physical therapy for a while but they were focused more on my arm area. for neck issues id rather see a chiropractor
thanks for the tips friend. might try needling too
No problemo. Glad it helped.
fricking shit same. always feel it when i do lateral raises
I had this same problem last year at 6'0 239 lbs. It was in my left leg and it hurt every time I stood up from a chair. I got my weight down to 224 lbs and the tingling went down by 70%. Are you fat?
No I'm not fat.
hot yoga, thai massage from old lady
Pinched nerve in neck?
Do arms behind back chest stretch, lock fingers together, lock arms completely out, make sure wrist are not leaning either side.
Slightly tilt neck, find sweet spot, pop it.
Congrats.
This position allows a direct path for all the nerves to move without posture interference.
You though have to make sure you get in the correct position my friend.
