Playing sports with other men in highschool correlates positively with high testosterone and social confidence.

Playing sports with other men in highschool correlates positively with high testosterone and social confidence. You HAVE played sports in highschool, right? You're not a sportless low-T cuck who missed out on a formative social experience, right? No matter how much you lift, if you haven't played rugby or similar sports during adolescence, you have missed the foundation already. Nothing will prevent you from being a low-T numale who never got to know what it's like to fight for your team.

Mixing up correlation and causation again, I see. No amount of high-school sports would have fixed your dumpster-tier T levels, OP.

      Anonymous

Not OP, but I don't buy that. I believe working out at a young age, the beginning of puberty, will jump start T production since you're training your body to use it and produce it. My evidence is when I started lifting weights at 13 and was growing significant facial hair by the end of the year. To this day I have a much better beard than my older brother, who didn't start lifting weights until college.
      >hur dur I just said correlation doesn't equal causation
Ya nice r*ddit buzzword there, but think it over and realize it makes sense. Also, sometimes correlation actually does equal causation.

So the frick what you nerd? It wasn't a lab experiment, it was my own personal experience that I used to draw a conclusion. Am I right? Who knows? Am I wrong? Who knows? I didn't say definitely it was 100% the cause, I said X happened and I think it contributed to Y because the two are closely related.
              >hur dur but that's just one sample size and you didn't do a control and you don't know your variables and you didn't isolate them to help limit the outcome and prove your hypothesis.

Very true, I lifted weight at an elite level and played sports in hs and was decently athletic, nothing special, but I never got that social confidence that you would expect based on how much time I spent doing sports and how muscular my physique was. I think starting sports in elementary school is more important for the social benefits than middle school and onward.

most of the people who didn't play sports in high school were druggies or gays. Sports keep you limited in the amount of trouble you get into and help with a solid foundation for having integrity, sportsmanship, learning to lose and the sweet taste of victory. Also helped with staying in shape and getting girls

Played ice hockey in organized leagues from age 5 to age 19. Continued to play shinny regularly until I was around 24 and my regular group drifted apart. Played soccer and rugby from about age 11 to 17, through high school. Wasn't as serious about them but I still played hard and had fun. Hockey was the biggest benefit by far though, by the time I was seriously lifting at age 19 I was able to push a 3 plate squat single within a few months of training. I never went ham with squats after that, I doubt I'll ever squat 600lbs, but I've hit 405 for sets of 6 at my strongest and I can still push 385 for reps at age 36, but my goals have shifted away from pure strength.

Closest I had was lifeguarding over summers but we had our own bro culture, always pushing ourselves and each other. When we weren't doing drills or cleaning we would do time trials and shit, we worked like dogs but it was a great time.

I did JROTC kek. We lifted weights, jogged and did sprints. I wish I did wrestling because I only really cared about the fitness aspect. I'm gonna put my kid in a sport definitely.

I figured it might be slightly more interesting to read about a normal active person's sport history than it is to read angry, self-deprecating and otherwise negative comments towards OP, Black folk, israelites, women, etc but I guess I forgot where I was for a moment. Carry on as though it's normal.

Dunno OP. Most of the lads that I know that played team sports are just skinnyfat, average joes now. I don't doubt that they got a lot from playing, and it does wonders for sociability and making friends, as well as learning how to work for something. But it's not some guarantee that you're going to be some sort of chad for life. I was more into video games, reading and art as an early teen but then got into bodyweight exercise and eventually lifting, and it served me pretty well as a way to discipline myself and that has kept me in good shape into my mid 30s. You have your own path, and if you seethe about missing some made up milestone when you were 15 or something then you'll never be happy. I'm guessing you're 19 or 20 right? Nobody in their mid 20s onwards who has made the best of their adult life up to that poont cares about what they did in high school. You're meant to make the best of what you have, not endlessly gnaw on bad feelings from the past
