Porn is decreasing your testosterone

Watching pornography impacts the brain's reward system through a dopamine surge, associated with pleasure and motivation. This creates a reinforcing loop, leading to a craving for more stimulation. Excessive dopamine release can downregulate D2 receptors on pituitary gland lactotroph cells.

D2 receptors play a crucial role in regulating prolactin, a hormone involved in lactation and pregnancy. Frequent porn consumption desensitizes these receptors, reducing their ability to suppress prolactin production. Elevated prolactin levels negatively affect male physiology, interfering with testosterone production, muscle mass, bone density, and vitality. High prolactin can cause decreased libido, sexual function, and motivation for real-life relationships.

Prolactin's influence extends beyond sexual health, affecting physical appearance and energy levels. It is linked to reduced muscle growth, loss of tone, decreased energy, and skin issues.

Quitting porn restores D2 receptor sensitivity and balances prolactin levels, improving sexual function, motivation, and overall well-being. A healthy dopamine-prolactin balance can enhance muscle development, increase energy, and attractiveness, leading to greater confidence and success in real-life interactions.

      This
All the youtube shit is anti porn/religious crap. It's like you're either a porn addict or never watch porn or jack off ever.

If you jack off more than once a day months on end then yes you probably are addicted, go for a run or get a GF in that case even if it is a fat.

      >My source: AgreesWithMeDotCom and a Youtube video I probably made

Shut the frick up, find a real source loser
      >inb4 find an alternate source

The idea is that porn is addictive and the over abundance of it that we have no is the reason why people have developed extreme fetishes and women dont like men who jerk off either

I did 2 testosterone tests 1 week apart to test the legitimacy of an old study from Asia that I saw which showed that testosterone doubled after 1 week of nofap. I also got my sperm health checked at the same time because seeing all the articles about sperm levels plunging by 50% over the last couple of decades freaked me out.

So for my first test, I downloaded a porn video of a muscular Polish guy pounding a chubby Polish woman (I love pale and fat European chicks) onto my phone and watched it as I splooged into a sample cup. It only took a couple minutes. I then got my blood taken about 15 minutes later to test my testosterone level. The results came back and I was pretty dismayed since they were only about 400 - which is on the lower end of normal.

Then I went back a week later and didn't fap at all during that time. Got my blood taken again to check my testosterone. This time it was near 900 - which is near the upper end of normal ranges.

And so it seems like that old study from Asia is legit. Not fapping for a week really does double your testosterone. At least it did in me.

And oh yeah, my sperm came back as healthy - which I was surprised to see to be honest.

Further along these lines, I've been suffering from severe erectile dysfunction ever since I took Finasteride back in early 2017. But after I did 6 weeks of nofap, my erections were diamond hard again.

And so nofap really is good for your testosterone and your dick health.

I can't verify the other supposed benefits, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was merit to those claims as well.

Intuitively, constantly looking at increasingly weird and extreme porn, or furiously scrolling through multiple videos, gifs, and images to find that perfect angle that gets you off, just can't be good for your dopamine receptors and brain in general - especially if you do it chronically for years and years like most men do. And so I believe the people who claim that it saps their motivation and makes them more socially awkward.

      >All this self study bullshit
      >OH btw I took hair loss meds during it and got a broken dick

Assuming you're autismo enough that you did all this, you invalidated your own results.

I didn't take Finasteride during these tests, moron. I only used Finasteride for a few weeks back in early 2017 - which is 6 1/2 years ago. And, for whatever reason, that was enough to permanently frick up my dick and balls.

I got my testosterone checked a few times since then as part of the process of trying to figure out what happened to my dick. And I wanted to see if 2 decades of fapping and porn addiction were contributing to my erection problems. Common sense dictates that they are, but I wanted to know for sure. That's why I scheduled 2 testosterone tests 1 week apart to see if fapping and porn was lowering my testosterone. And I did these tests about 2 years ago - which is 4 1/2 years after I stopped taking Finasteride.

I also went 6 weeks without fapping about 1 1/2 years ago - which was a big deal for me because I've been addicted to porn and fapping ever since I was 10, and I'm 30+ now. I couldn't fap because I was recovering from surgery. And that's how I learned that fapping and porn was negatively affecting my dick health. Despite my dick being severely fricked up by Finasteride, not fapping or looking at porn for 6 weeks allowed me to get rock hard erections again.

And so, again, from my own personal experience, claims about nofap increasing testosterone and improving erection quality, especially when you're face to face with a real woman who doesn't live up to pornstars, have merit.

Posted this in the last nofap/noporn-related thread I saw, but it's worth reiterating:

I think it depends on the person. Possibly genetics.

I do No Nut November every year and did nofap late October 2021 through March of 2022. The results for me were:
    >Libido fell off a cliff. I had to force myself to fap again.
    >Effectively fell into depression: nothing I enjoyed doing previously seemed enjoyable in the slightest (except eating; thanks Binge Eating Disorder!)
    >Strength gains plateued
    >Running became a lot less fun but a lot easier (I was clearing 5Ks in under 19 minutes by March)
    >Lost any desire for a gf, which I guess wasn't so bad since I'm incel anyway
    >Developed knee pain that never fully went away

I've read and heard enough positive anecdotes though, that I can't just write it off completely. I'd recommend anyone who hasn't at least try it. If you get my results you can always just stop.
