Protein

You don't REALLY need this much, do you? This is for competitions and extreme bulking, right? I am willing to compromise on being "optimal" - I'm just looking to put on some muscle and it seems like everywhere recommends about 1g/lb.

So I need to eat 118 grams of protein every single fricking day?

I tried for the past few days and it's completely unsustainable. I can devour bags of chips and 12 packs of Pepsi like it's nothing but everything with any appreciable amount of protein is impossibly filling, even (or perhaps especially) shakes. And if I miserably gulp it down I can't work out anymore without nausea. It's a good day for me if I fit 60 grams in a day, mostly from cheese products. Is that at least a good start for a beginner? How do y'all get your protein in a day?

I need to find the cheat code food, something that is 'real' as you say but doesn't feel like it's a protein food during the eating and digestion process, if that makes any sense. Something's gotta be out there.

Huh I didn't expect that. Haven't had yogurt since I was a kid. So googling says greek is the highest protein type? This looks genuinely promising, thanks anon

There's even high protein versions of Greek yoghurt with 25g per serving

Yogurt is mostly water and very filling. You need to eat chicken breast, ground beef, tuna, etc

I need more. I don't gain any lean mass below 1.2-1.35 g/lb. Not sure if it's because I'm old or just how wide spread lying about protein content is. Either way doesn't matter have to get there to gain.

      >or just how wide spread lying about protein content is
It's not necessarily a lie, all protein just isn't equal. As a rule animal proteins, fungus proteins and onions are good as they are, everything else you need to eat a double amount and mishmash from different sources for the same effect.

I think it is pretty widespread through not just in suppliments like whey where nitrogen dope samples so they read higher but like in protein cerals and pastas or things that market as having added protein content are probably all doing it now too. Probably not more than 20% per what they say the serving size is but if you set a small serving size you can expect a larger cumulative difference.

homie, mf onions?!? I put that shit raw on everything but I never once thought it would contain a relevant amount of protein?

Older people have to eat more protein for the same effect, grandpa.

Yeah. I didn't believe that either, I used to think protein is just a broscience meme. Once I started proteinmaxxing I saw huge gains (for natty standards ofc eh?), also less body fat somehow. Now I do 2g of protein for every kg of weight

You might need more in some cases.
The MAX that changes things is 1.6g/kg, UNLESS YOU'RE BULKING HARD, then it's 3.3g/kg.
But that's the maximum, uncertain if so much is even needed.
IIRC 1.2g/kg is surely, absolutely, you're getting something out of that protein, not even a gram is wasted.
Up to you to decide how to plan your strategy.

Yes you do. The difference for me was night and day between 100g of protein and ~170g, especially on a cut. Although this thread specifically is a bait because you said 118g implying you are feminine bottom but yeah.

and here i am struggling to keep my protein below or at 160g

based on what people are saying here, most of them are dyels if they eat only 100-120g protein

You only need 1.6g/kg according to Dr. Mike Isratel
Eat tuna, drink protein milk and eat fresh cheese.

Eat two eggs in the morning, chicken for lunch, and chicken or beef for dinner. Done, easy 120ish grams of protein there alone, closer to 150+ when you add in stuff that goes along with it like bread, rice, cheese etc.
Have a single scoop of whey if you want and you can hit 200 grams in a day without really trying.

Lol that NOTHING. I eat 150 daily easy.

You weigh less than 120? Crazy. Not surprising you think Pepsi and chips are appropriate "food"
