Question for 25+ anons

Have any of you guys noticed past a certain age, unhealthy living takes a drastic toll on your appearance & wellbeing?

I just turned 25 and I've been very unhealthy to be honest. Sedentary lifestyle, lots of sugar and caffeine, bad sleep. Well I always looked and felt great so it was fine (I thought). But over this summer I started wasting away, and now I look like a sick person. Is this just how aging works? You're immune to damage up to a point, and then it all hits you & you look and feel like shit unless you're healthy?

I seriously look awful now, but maybe it's just because I don't take care of myself

Not the flex you think it is. Looking younger only becomes a flex after like 35. Also 99% of people think they look younger than they do, nobody in their 30s actually passes for 21 it’s just some shit that old people tell each other to convince themselves they’re “still young”

Yes but also I get told I look 19 and I'm 27. A lot of it is skincare and limiting goyslop. I noticed when I have ample cheat days my skin starts to look dull and tired. It's really obvious shit. Sleep, spf, decent diet, exercise, and find something that helps take your stresses away.

Same, this old lady I was working for today thought I was 17 or 18 but I'm actually 24. I know she's old so her judgement is probably skewed a bit, but literally just avoid alcohol and drugs and drink a lot of water and you're good. Also try to moderate your time in the sun. This is the trick to age-maxxing

    >Is this just how aging works? You're immune to damage up to a point, and then it all hits you & you look and feel like shit unless you're healthy?
    100000%.
Pretty much everything people associate with aging is actually just accumulated unhealthiness. 70 year olds running around and doing squats is rare only because people who workout are rare. Everyone can in theory be in shape, especially when growing old.
In fact, things like testosterone don't actually drop when you get older. It stays the same until like 70, and that's when it starts going down slowly.
What you see in the population is attributed to chronic disease/chronic problems people build up as they get older, and when you account for these, testosterone doesn't drop at all (said another way: you lose testosterone as a function of accumulated chronic problems, NOT age. You can avoid chronic problems by taking care of yourself health-wise).
The number 1 cause of preventable death is hypertension caused by sedentary lifestyle and poor diet choice.

This. This was proven in a landmark Australian study. The whole, "muh test drops 2% per year after 30" doesn't happen to total testosterone if you stay healthy and have regular sex/masturbation. But many guys become less healthy, fatter, have sex/jerk off less as they age due to busy stressful lifestyle which causes test to start dropping.

          Anonymous

Yes. Your mid 20s is usually the age where the life choices you made in your youth start to show. There’s a reason so many people start to get fat and “hit the wall” after college.
Good thing is you’re in your prime and you can undo a lot of the damage before your 26th. But you need to get your shit together NOW. Because every year after 25 that you wait to get in shape, it’s only going to be harder.

I thought a bad diet and sleep was just some shit that slowly wore you down over time. Not a force of nature that just hits you like a truck once you hit a certain age. Is that shit really reversible? I might just an hero if it's not

I got my blood work done recently and they said its all fine as usual except lack of vitamin D which I'm supplementing
The air quality in my home is supposedly bad, I moved to a new place around March and I fear I'm breathing in shitty air. I haven't had breathing issues or other health problems though, just appearance which has tanked. I didn't even have any stress or booze during that time period

Also soon after moving to my new place, I started losing serious amounts of hair all over the head, and my hair texture went to shit as well which you can see in the pics. Even for a person suffering hair loss, the texture of the hair is super bad and it just looks terrible.

  9. 6 months ago
    Anonymous

Yeah. So I’ve been fixing it.
Granted this has always been the case but it’s much worse past 25. For multiple reasons, it doesn’t just actually hit you harder, but others perception of you is far more critical at this age.
    >get shitty sleep, look like shit, bags under eyes, etc
    >people assume you don’t give a frick, or you’re having marital problems or drug issues or that you’re some loser who gets wasted the night before work
    Vs
    >same thing but ages 18-24
    >people assume you’re young and we’re out with friends and it’s no big deal

Like, if you ate like shit and were fat as a kid, you were still fat and seen as a fatty. But as an adult it’s not just you’re fat, but you’re seen as incredibly weak and irresponsible, you’ve had this long to get it together and nothing? Really?
If that makes sense. That’s how it’s viewed.

So eliminate unhealthy shit, make a valiant effort to always present your best. Unironically look at professional nigs in work places and get some idea. You’ll notice dress clothes/business casual stuff fits them perfectly. Little details like that. Go to a tailor if you must. Get haircuts routinely. Don’t drink, at all. Eat healthy. Get sunlight. Develop a mobility routine to prevent injuries/stay mobile and flexible. Never go above 15% body fat. Idc if you fell short of goals, the second you hit 15% it’s time to start cutting again.

This is unironically how women hit the wall. You can coast for awhile treating your body like total shit if you have decent genetics. But your metabolism will slow, poisons will build up, and you will eventually have to pay the physical debt you're running up. Not too late, though. Take it as a wake up call.

The wall is real for both genders I didn't age between 19 and 30. Now
, approaching 31 I've had problems staying hard, broke my left radius and ulna, hurt my back deadhanging of all things and it never really healed, now my lower back feels seized up and stiff every time I sit too long. I tore something in my right forearm doing barbell curls. I got a vicious, vicious flu I thought Iwas going to cough myself literally to death in phlegm and after getting over it with a dry cough still prevalent I tore something coughing in the meat below my right scapula around my ribs. It sounded like grabbing a rotisserie chicken and ripping it in half and felt like tearing cardboard. Now when I cough it's like being stabbed from the inside out and I can't lift despite feeling otherwise ok.

Never had an injury more than a couple of days before 30.

Mostly because I would always eat homemade food, for the first 15 years of my life we were kind of poor and my parents didn't have money to buy sweets, junk food and sodas, too often. This helped me and my brother development
