A smart dude would just read on his phone, and it won't look weird. They have Kindle and other apps.

why should one be concerned about looking weird

Maybe if you're a powershitter and you take 15 mins between your RPE 8.5 double paused low bar squat triples. Otherwise

that's not even remotely what normcore means or refers to. You wanted to sound really smart and like you're above what the guy in OPpicrel is doing, but you just outed yourself as someone with zero cultural literacy and who doesn't read, but who desperately needs to sound smart

If anybody does this they should be beat with dumbbells and then hung by their underwear on the assisted pull up machine.

If you bring a book to the gym, you're not going to fit in. That's all I'm going to say. That's your only warning.

Tried it, it’s actually distracting, you have to open the book and find where you left off and by that time your next set has to start again, then you might have to re- read in order to catch up, you need somewhere to put the book unless you want to put it on the floor and it will get dirty. you will get it wet from sweat and you will ruin the book by too much mishandling. Now I just stick to audiobooks.

get an ereader. adjust the font size so you can roughly finish 1 page per rest period and you can pick it right back up after your set

honestly man the only cringe thing in this case is being so worried about what other people might think that you tailor your behavior to it and avoid doing the things you enjoy or which relax you because you fear being seen as cringe. The only thing we have to cringe at is worrying about being cringe itself

Nah that's not true. That was the case before 2012. Once cell phones and social media really started taking off, everyone should do everything they can to find a group to fit in with and then do everything they can to keep fitting in. Otherwise you end up getting pictures and videos taken of you and you're "that guy."

sounds based, but in practice its quite counter productive,in order to induce enough volume and tension to induce the most muscle growth possible, you need to be resting 2-5 minutes between sets, you wont be memorizing any sort of meaningful information within that time period, especially with an increased heart rate and you focusing on the next set in the back of your mind.

reading pdfs on my phone sucks if the text is small
but ebooks from my library aren't bad since the text is blown up and conforms to the screen

I read manga between sets on my phone and 2 people asked me if I am excited for gear 5 in the one piece anime, but I don't even watch anime. It also led to a hookup with some girl wearing a hxh shirt in my parent's town.
