Realistically, what can be achieved with dumbbells from home

Realistically, what can be achieved with dumbbells from home

I mainly do body weight stuff but work at a thrift store and have been collecting dumbbell plates

I have
4x 5kg
8x 2.5kg
4x 1.25kg

There are a bunch more I can grab from work and eventually plan on getting all of them.

How can I incorporate it in my workout?

Rn I do shoulder presses with them on my chest/pushup days and bent over rows and curls on my back/pull-up days

You can play with tempo and volume almost infinitely. Just set a time limit for your workouts because reaching failure starts to take forever when you get used to the same weight. When you feel your workouts take too long then it's time to get more weight.
But overall dumbbells are really fun and can build a lot of muscle.

This. A cheap bench and a few sets of dumbbells are all you need for like 90% of this board. Most of us here just want to be lean and all-around athletic looking. Actual bodybuilders are the minority.

        This is a bodybuilding board.

If you want to look like a chicken go to another board

It hasn’t been for a long time. IST used to be something of a spin-off of bodybuilding.com’s misc, but that was a decade ago. Nowadays it’s much more influenced by /LULZ/’s board 'culture'.

You're both wrong. The board is "fitness" for general fitness enthusiasts. Not bodybuilding and not LULZ. The fact that we're all gay + delusional is secondary to our interests in a healthy lifestyle.

With these weights? Nothing. These weights combined in a backpack? A lot. That gives you 45kg in total, if you can find a backpack that can hold those then you can get some pretty good gains.

Main compounds movements are weighted calisthenics.
    Pull ups
    Bodyweight rows
    Push ups
    Pike push ups
    Dips

    Leg movements
    High rep squats for starters
    Split squats
Good morning using backpack+towel Zercher good morning using backpack, do high reps. If you can stand on something and go DEEP the weight is challenging.

And here is where a little ingenuity and creativity comes in handy.
Get a steel pipe (can use vacuum pipe) or a really solid stick that can hold the backpack and 45kg.
Put the stick in the straps of the backpack that are suppose to go on your back. With this you open up for many good isolation exercises, which with the weights that you have will be more then enough to get you gains.

    Broomstick+backpack Curls 2 arm/ 1 arm
    Broomstick +backpack overhead tricep extensions
    Broomstick+backpack Upright rows
Broomstick+backpack 1 arm lateral raise (hold on to something with other hand)
Broomstick+backpack Behind the neck press, start with higher reps 15-25 reps to get used to it

Then you can use a towel instead of a broomstick
    Towel+backpack Curls 1 arm/2 arm
    Towel+backpack Overhead tricep extensions (insanely

1 arm OHP using only backpack+weights or using pipe/stick in straps with backpack.

You can do 1 arm crook style rows, db style rows, my backpack started tearing at 40kg though but it was such a good set up to row with, even better then db's in terms of how it felt on the back.

This is basically how i trained in lockdown and it was very productive. I had 45kg in total from various small plates, a kb, a few db's. A pull up bar and rings. I got 16 inch arms with backpack curls and backpack overhead extensions. Not to bad.

Your main toy should be barbel, dumbells need to be supplement on top for specific training and movements. How gorillion more times efficient barbel is isnt even debatable.

That is though if you actually want to build something. Theres more non fit posting here than fit posters evident by the advice itt. Stop giving dyel advice if you are a raging dyel yourself you homosexuals. Joust in your incel threads.

you have about 50lbs of dumbells pers side. Invest in an adjustable bench and you can do
    Dumbel chest press
    Inclined chest press
    Shoulder press
    Rows
    side lat raises
    rear should raises
    skull crushers
    Shrugs
    Lunges
    Bulgarian split squats
    SL/Romanian desdlifts
    Curls
    Over the head tricep extensions
Add a pull up bar (park) and you can get a decent slim physique, especially if you add running and jump squats
