It's mostly placebo, but it still works about 1/3 of the time even if you know it's placebo. Personally I prefer my placebos to be of the free variety, but some people need to pay in order to feel like they deserve to magically get better sometimes.
I had some back pain and went to a chiropractor. They wanted me to sign 30 pages of paper work, some saying I couldn't sue them and that I would attend sessions until they released me from their care. A bunch of stuff I've never signed to see at an actual doctor. I just walked out.
I've never been to one, nor have I had backpain, but I'm thinking it's at least in part regression to the mean fallacy. People seek help when the pain is at its worst, so naturally it will almost always get better after seeing a chiropractor.
Complete quackery. Anything they can do, a massage can do cheaper, or a real physical therapist can do better. And your insurance is more likely to cover a PT, not one of these occultist quacks.
Chiropractic techniques address somatic dysfunction with muscle tension and position, joint and bone alignment, just like stretching, massage or physical therapy. However, unlike, for example, your natural movement causing muscle to exert force on the bone, the chiropractor uses your ligaments and tendons like a rope to pull things into place, which may have rough side effects and isn’t even guaranteed to solve your problem. Can it help people? Yes, but it’s nowhere near optimal. If you have a musculoskeletal problem you can’t stretch for on your own, it’s much wiser to seek out a physical therapist, masseuse or one of those OMT doctors (they’re all adjusting your muscles and bones directly so it’s smoother and safer than chiropractics)
Its not a chinkmeme, acupuncture with modern shit is actually a working methodology for restarting nerves if damaged, if you don't have nerve issues, you won't need one.
My arm's nerve was gone for a bit and they did some of it on it but the pain was a bit too much to go through fully since I'm a bit sensitive to that. I felt sharp jolts in fricked up nerves.
Arnold tol that they are the best friends of bodybuilders. Which means that you should never use their services as Arny is full of shit.
They will do a fine job if you have shit like dislocated shoulder.
They are complete hacks. Avoid them at all costs.
I don’t care for them but I’m the morning if I wake up and my backs tight I twist and pop it and frick it feels good.
fricking charlatans who will cause you a real injury. Get a massage or physio apt instead
No. Physical therapists are far better
They are just as useless unless something serious like learning to walk again. “Hey stretch this” okay.
wrong
You're a fricking idiot.

*snap*
A good chiropractor will take x-rays and perscibe physical therapy type stretching and workouts and yes they are effective.
my chiropractor wouldn't even adjust me.
said I needed to see a massage therapist and a PT.(tendonitis in elbow and front delt)
Not all chiropractic clinics are the same and I will never get people who get back Adjustments when they have zero back pain.

Never let them do anything to your neck, they may kill you.

They cause more damage than they fix.
At least acupuncturists tend to not cripple you, despite being just as bad of a chinkmeme

Bullshit but it's nice to have a cute young girl rub and touch my (almost) naked body for an hour and have it paid for by my insurance heh
Glorified massage therapists who might cripple you

Do they have a medical degree? Are they a licensed doctor? Are they fit? If yes all three they are usually worth it.
