    Probably the best tool to train your pre frontal cortex (the logical you). It will not make you happy, in fact it can make you depressed. It's not a cure all for your loneliness or feelings of sadness. It's a powerful practice that deserves to be studied by the practicioner like a martial art. But once you get going and become skillfull at it you can even slow time. Very powerfull tool.

      I try to meditate for 5-10 minutes in the morning. I always find myself more stressed and overwhelmed on days I don’t meditate. Even 5 minutes is hard at first I found myself feeling the urge to check my phone but it really just gives you an opportunity to listen to your body

      Would you recommend 15 minutes for the first time, or less?

        I find you still see benefits with consistency no matter the timing. It’s better to do a routine you can easily do every morning and if that’s 15 minutes that’s fine.

        Well your attention improves a lot, so when you bring your awareness to something you are more in the present if that makes sense. And things slow down.

      Same, any days I've skipped morning meditation have been hectic and stressed.
      Just few minutes of breathing, focusing and thinking about my life and what I am doing, why and how really helps.

    I tried 5 minutes of meditation a morning for a while but it didn't do anything for me. I thought it would relax me but it was draining trying to dismiss all my internal monologue.

          Can't speak to other people's experience, but I developed the ability to focus my attention for prolonged periods

          I'm in grad school for EE and have two to three hour long classes where all we do is discuss equations. 100% of the lecture is staring at calculus. I am able to hold my attention on the lecture for hours, rather than drifting off and missing important info.

          Also, I understand myself much better I understand where my thoughts are coming from and why they are there. That is an invaluable tool for my wellbeing.

      After try different methods, I found out that counting breaths works best for me.

      Inhale
      Exhale
      Count 1
      Inhale
      Exhale
      Count 2

      repeat as many times as you want. 20 is a good quick meditation that calms me down. 50 when I'm addicted to my phone and need to calm my mind.
      I don't control volume of air I breathe, I focus on counting. It will naturally slow down around 10th breath

    one time i did it at night until i fell asleep, in the mornin i woke up and i had no thoughts, zero, I just kept meditating without realizing anything else.
    I went to school that day and my stomach and heart felt warm, as if I was in love. That was years ago, I've never meditated since.

    Meditation is a wellness scam, plain and simple.
    Though there is some evidence that meditation has some benefits, none of these are unique to meditation, and in fact you would be better off practicing some other type of relaxation such as reading, or light exercise
    Meditation as it is practiced in the west is essentially a bastardized and commodified form of eastern religion. Westerners using meditation to help with their health is absurd, it would be like if people in India started saying The Lord's Prayer every night because they thought doing so would hep them file their taxes.
    There is always someone making money off of meditation, that should be the first major red flag. They will in one breath tell you that meditation is simple and that anyone can learn it, but in the next say that if you want to truly learn meditation you need to pay for expensive guided sessions so that they can teach you how to empty your mind harder or something stupid like that.
    Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the guy who popularized meditation in the west literally made billions of dollars off of scamming gullible white people who were desperate to cling to any form of spirituality they could find.
    There is also a lot of weird cult like tendencies in meditation communities, especially Transcendental Meditation. Watch the documentary David Wants to Fly to learn more
    When I look around at people I know who practice meditation, I do not see these ultra wise and healthy people or anything like that, I see people who are just as anxious, lost and confused as anyone else. It kind of reminds me of the psychedelic crowd. If meditation truly was so powerful, why are we not ruled over by a caste of meditating superhumans?

    I watch porn with 9 tabs open at once. Firefox is best for this since the overlay is stackable. Usually mute the audio on 6 or 7 and leave 2 being the main focus.

    Watch for an hour or two and dont jerk off till the very end. Dont even touch your dick. Trains reducing libido and cum massive loads.
