Never understand this shit. I use a fin+min topical spray, its not oily at all, its dried in seconds, easy. Why are there so many morons always saying they quit minoxidil because it messes up their hair or something?
It loses like 80% of its effectiveness if the hair is not wet, since the carrier never really gets to reach the scalp. If it’s “drying instantly” it’s probably not doing anything.
This is also why some people “don’t respond” to it. They have hair 1+ inch long and expect to reach their scalp when they apply it to their bone dry unmoisterized hair.
Does almost nothing alone.
The root problem is DHT miniaturizing hair follicles and minoxidil does nothing to stop/reverse that.
Works great as a stack in conjunction with finasteride and weekly microneedling.
this. you need a dht blocker. either moral finasteride, oral dutasteride, or a topical dht blocker such as topical finasteride (often available in pre-mixed solutions), RU58841, or pyrilutamide. if you are just using minoxidil by itself, then you are not taking care of the main problem, which is dht.
if you have hairloss minoxidil will not do anything in the long term
it might work for some years but eventually dht will frick up your gains
take fin or leave it be
and if you take fin early enough you wont need minox
It works if you notice yourself at NW 2-3. If you're NW 4+ you will see improvements but never have a full head if hair. Maybe enough to cover your head. Either way, be ready for shedding. It hits like crazy and of you're NW 2-3, you might be best off with a buzzcut for half a year.
what if I'm not actually losing hair but just want a fuller beard? like I just want it to come in higher than it is now, would the 10% minoxidil roll-on work for that?
Cant believe nobody said the obvious but it ages the frick out of your skin on your face. After a couple months on minox I looked straight up haggard with wrinkle lines I never had before which went away shortly after stopping it
>filled in my cheeks permanently so i now have full beard growth >started getting palpitations >found out it can enlarge your heart >made by israelites in Israel
i regret nothing but i wouldnt do it again if i knew the full story
>Can I make my moustache connect to my beard with minox?
Probably. All I had was a goatee with a thin line of hair along my jaw line, now I have full growth.
>What was your regimen?
Morning and night I used the pipette in the bottle to smear it on my face. There's a tutorial on youtube for beard use iirc. Did this for a couple months until I learnt about the heart issues and connected the dots in regards to my palpitations. Don't take the side effects lightly, you only get one heart. Like I said, I'm happy with my results but I wouldn't do it again.
I wouldn't do it again either, I got a full beard from minox which is cool to hide my weak jawline and chin line, another benefit is being high bf % when you have a beard isn't as bad as clean shaven.
As for attracting the opposite sex, I've only really gotten compliments from other dudes, my only interaction with a girl was at my job, I asked her if I should just shave my beard and she said "no, it gives men some charm".

Worked for my beard, roughly 1 year for this beard, I had nothing on my face, then did another 6 months after a few years to fix a few missing patches.
Never really tried for my hair but if you stay consistent it will probably work, most people give up because the first 6 months you might see 0 results.
I had some side effects during it tho, my heart had palpitations.
what was the concentration you used? I used oral minox 5mg for a few months and while I experienced some lightheadedness when I stood up fast from the floor a few times, I cannot imagine any sides with the miniscule amount of the usual 1ml of 5% topical minox that gets absorbed systemically. I switched from the expensive tablets to titrating 2.5mg of topical minox and taking it orally, and applying 1ml 5% topically, once a day each, and the lightheadedness disappeared completely
it isn't, it just prolongs the anagen growth phase artificially inducing hair growth without doing anything for the underlying cause and DHT is still ravaging your hair follicles in the background. it's just an adjunct growth stimulant to a 5ar inhibitor, like fin, optimally a topical antiandrogen, like RU58841 too. all the gains on min will disappear as soon as you stop using it
>it just prolongs the anagen growth phase artificially
So what foes this mean? If I use fin and min to regrow a little, when I'm happy should I stop using min, or will my hairline recess a bit more again if I do that?
DHT miniaturizes follicles, reduces the anagen growing phase and prolongs the telogen resting phase. minox artificially prolongs the anagen giving you visible growth, but works only for as long as you keep using it. when you stop you lose all the minox gains, plus if your baldness is progressing, it will catch up and it will be like you'd never taken minox. even if you never stop, the progressing baldness with eventually catch up. that's why you have to combine it with a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor, like finasteride.
fin stops balding and in most cases regrows at least some hair by reducing the amount of testosterone that's converted to DHT and it's the most important thing when fighting hairloss. you can add minox to it if your hairloss is advanced and you need some additional regrowth, but, ieven as a growth stimulant, it regrows 3 times less hair than fin, so e.g. you get 40 new hairs per cm2, instead of 30 with fin alone, and you lose any growth induced by it once you stop
>Just went for the transplant
guess what, you are still balding outside of these 2-5k transplanted grafts and even those aren't entirely DHT-resistant, outside of the ones taken from a really narrow strip of truly DHT-resistant hair. saying that you don't have to care about hairloss prevention because you went for a translant is incredibly stupid. that said, minoxidil isn't essential and 5ar inhibitors, like fin, should be the first thing to use
Been on oral and topical finasteride and minoxidil since June. Was on various combinations of this for over a year prior but finally went on the full stack.
Hair's just gotten worse. Hairline is basically a NW3 now. I swear it's even accelerated since. I've seen guys say finasteride accelerated their hairline receding and I swear it's happening. I had a FOUR MONTH shed where every day I had my fingers laced with hairs in the shower then comb had clumps of hair after. Shed ended a few months ago, and I've seen no regrowth. All the shed hair is just gone. Even the shorter hairs I see now growing out are thinner.
It's all fricked man. At this point dutasteride is my last option, but I've seen people say the dut destroys hairlines even more.
Took it for a bit over 2 years to grow a beard. Worked great, SLIGHT aging of skin (took glycine and moisturized for a bigger part of it to minimize bad effects).
No regret.
wtf is this thread? nobody mentions keto shampoo, essential oils, massages, microneedling, red light therapy, nothing.
just like reddit trannies. >ohh anon you gotta take the troony drugs its the best for you everything else is a meme >AND you gotta take orally!!!
recommending oral min out of everything wtf. say goodbye to your heart and enjoy hair growth all over you body.
Fit is useless.
I mean sure as hell taking fin and min pills are the most comfortable and proven fix for your hairloss but what about the sides?
yeah putting on all these oils making your hair disgusting and microneedling and redlight, these are all pain in the ass but I wouldnt call them >Does Nothing: The Treatments.
if you have some rare case of agressive balding you should always go for fin min. for maintenance what i said works extremely well but nobody with a full head of hear gives a shit and go through all of that.
i think we have plenty of proof rosemary, castor oil helps a lot. red light therapy always works and you can just have it on your head while shitposting. microneedling should be done with fin+min anyway.
unless you over nw3 i wouldnt start fin min and if I did I would only topical.
why not give essential oils a chance? I got pretty nice regrowth, we will see if it fully blooms.
I wouldn't use red light therapy too much, because they give off EMF. Plus getting natural red light outside at sunrise and evening is better if you can. Even for a few minutes on skin, red sun light per day, you get benefits

Used it for beard growth, applied religiously for a year twice a day, it worked excellent for me.
You will get some hair in areas where it shouldn't start growing, some anon said ears and that didn't happen to me but I saw a friend for whom it did happen.
I liked my results so much that I came back to it 2 years later just to fill the patches on my beard and a bit on scalp, works great
doesn’t do much for most people, and your hair will be oily and disgusting for hours every day.
you’ve gotta take fin

It's not. Not only doesn't it work for everyone, it also makes hair grow in places that you didn't want.
wait can i finally get chest hair/ more butt hair? i dont nwwd it otherwise.........
This. It makes hair grow pretty much everywhere except where you apply it.
>apply to scalp
>beard grows up to my cheekbones
frick you minoxidil
when you sleep you smear it all over your pillow and then your face
Oral minoxidil is better, drink it op
It will make hair grow out of your ears prematurely.
putting shit in your hair 2x/day sucks. I take a pill instead.
once a day is enough. I take 2.5mg orally in the morning and 1ml 5% topically with tretinoin before sleep for optimal results

It fricks up your skin. Thats about it. Ages you faster. Ive been taking it for 7 years. It works.
What did he mean by this
Skin and aging
Minoxidil inhibits collagen production.
You have also been aging for 7 years you fricking moron
