If you're a recovered fatty it's the best of both worlds. You get to eat a big meal and feel "full" but you still only end up eating like 2000-2500 calories a day so you can maintain a healthy weight. I dropped from 250 to 180 on OMAD (in conjunction with exercise) and have maintained that weight for years now.
It's pretty easy to do. It's nice because you feel like you're being rewarded at the end of the day. IDK how people say they're eating 2500+ calories... when I did Omad, I found it very hard to put food down.
I generally scarf down food very quickly. But on Omad, I'd be stopping for a break w half my food still there, and definitely not be eating 2000 calories.
I've been doing it for nearly a decade because I have binge eating problems. I simply can't stop eating until I feel like my stomach is about to burst. And so OMAD is the only way that I can shove tons of food into my mouth like a pig without becoming morbidly obese. And so OMAD has allowed me to maintain a decent physique at about 200 pounds (I'm 6 foot and muscular). I could also lose a lot of weight if I wanted to by simply eating less, but I honestly like being a bit chubby because it makes me feel more masculine and in touch with my primitive Neanderthal roots.
I also have all sorts of other psychological issues like depression, ADHD, and autism, and so I can't stand the process of preparing food, eating it, washing dishes, and then flossing and brushing my teeth. Doing that 3 to 5 times a day would drive me crazy. But just doing it once a day makes the laborious process of eating manageable for me.
I've always been scared that it was going to kill me early because it honestly doesn't feel very healthy to forcefield yourself for about 90 minutes straight. I feel like it's putting tons of strain on my organs to process so much food. But then I was pleasantly surprised to see intermittent fasting and OMAD become trendy over the last several years (I just started doing it intuitively). I also worry that it's killing my gains because the body can supposedly only process like 30 grams of protein at a time. And so me eating 100-ish grams of protein all at once is probably a waste.
And so I'd only recommend it if you have binge eating problems like me.

Yes and no. It's not just limited to 30g protein in one sitting. There are two factors that are going to help you absorb more protein in your situation:
#1: Your digestive system consists of your stomach, short intestine, and long intestine. All that protein has a long way to travel, giving your body plenty of time to absorb a lot of it.
#2: You're eating all that protein in a "mixed meal". In other words, since you're eating OMAD, you're mixing in all that protein with fats and carbs as well, which slows down the digestive process even more and gives the body even more time to absorb and utilize all that protein. The studies that declared you can only absorb 30g of protein at once is kinda bullshit because the people they tested this on drank protein shakes on an empty stomach and didn't eat anything else to go along with it (no fats/carbs).
All that said, yes, it is kinda true that if you spread out your protein intake into smaller meals throughout the day, you'll absorb most of it. But if you eat all your protein in one sitting, you're still going to absorb a lot of it - way more than just 30g in one sitting.
I also forgot to mention: Whatever protein is not absorbed by the body... still is. Let me explain: When we're talking about how much protein a body uses in one meal, we're actually meaning how much of it goes towards muscle growth. So the protein that isn't used for muscle growth STILL is utilized by the body, just for different (and very important) processes to stay healthy.

Extremely easy if you eat the correct foods.
If I had to choose between eating three 500 calorie meals and one 1500 calorie meal on a diet, I know which I would choose.
Great with GOMAD
>Once Marry a Damsel
its only for lardasses if you aren't moronic and never got fat then you should eat 4 or 5 times a day
gives your body the chance to improve insulin sensitivity by no having elevated insulin levels all the time because you keep eating every other hour
