dieting is calories in calories out while consuming your macros. There's no big secret behind it and everyone saying the opposite is either clueless, memeing or a grifter
Although I fully believe CICO is all that matters (on top of basic macros obviously), surely there must be some differences between consuming x calories spread throughout the day vs. consuming x calories all at once in a single meal. Maybe it isn't a significant different, but there's no way something as complex as the human body will react the same to both conditions.
Some people prefer omad
others prefer intermittent fasting
and a few would rather have small meals throughout the day
experiment and choose what works for you
i’m a huge fasting zealot but there’s studies that find zero difference in calories expenditure between even 14 small meals versus 2 big ones (both groups being of same calories daily). for the real fasting benefits you’re not looking at OMAD, you need AT LEAST 24 hours empty stomach to get the hormone spikes and autophagy etc. i am a huge fan of fasting and recommend all fatsos at meast try for a month but it all boils down to CICO and macros
Theoretically there's a maximum amount of calories your intestines can process per hour due to their surface area, but you're not hitting it in a day's worth of calories. Like maybe if you ate "10k calories" of just straight simple empty sugars you'd cap out and not absorb the full 10k, but in an ordinary diet of 2-3k calories you're fine.
Disagree. If you're doing 0mad, it's hard to overeat.
And if you are doing that, adjust what you're eating. I personally like it but am currently back to eating more regularly after seeing stuff about protein synthesis.
I could not imagine doing this to my stomach. I eat 2 small meals of maximum protein and am full for hours. Today I had ground chicken, beans, eggs, onions, garlic. One meal would be like a stomach stretching routine competitive eaters do.
You aren’t supposed to do the crazy huge meals YouTubers do the whole point is to eat only one meal and then your body draws the other calories it needs from your stores fat
I eat OMAD and I'm not in a deficit (so when would I ever draw on fat stores). Your meals don't have to be one giant meme to make up your macros, micros & calories. A lot of small dishes in rapid succession with an emphasis on caloric density for the main portion.
Do you? I was just playing with you in that post, but I've never heard of a an eating disorder where you maintain weight while eating a balanced diet. Shoving it into a few hours doesn't make it a disorder.

To what? Having a disorder you can't define? You just woke up and decided you needed to win an argument without even knowing what you're actually saying in it.
I've been doing OMAD for years with no intention to ever stop. I no longer desire snacks, garbage food, or food in general outside of my eating window. Digestion is 100x better. More time not eating to make more total focused time available, despite cooking everything from scratch.
This. I switched to it to lose weight, then continued on it once I lost the weight. It's just easier, and it flows with my workout schedule. I like to run on an empty stomach, and lift at night. I run at lunch time (which I no longer have to spend time eating), then lift while preparing dinner at night (I have a home gym).
I can do 1000 kcal dinners and 500 kcal desserts when bulking, I'm sure I could double that on accident if I only got one meal per day and didn't count calories.
I think he deleted them now but the first vids on his channel were vlogs of partying in Ibiza and they were all about smoking, drinking and fingering birds
In one of them there was a part where he went back to a girls apartment and was hitting fat bong rips with her lmao
They were all still up until last year, I was surprised they stayed up so long
I stopped watching him when he went through the long haired basedboy phase though
Dont take on some of the first-thought psyop negativity in this thread. The body is optimised in handling OMAD as thats the whole point of insulin, huntergatherers did OMAD, OM every other D, etc. As long as you're hitting your ideal macros with a good nutrition profile, you'll find that OMAD will reduce fatigue (your body isnt spending energy in constantly metabolising), burn fat quicker, and cultivate self-discipline to not snacking or trying to fill in boredom through food. GL
I just do it because the first meal I take reroutes blood to my stomach, and it makes me drowsy, and it happens each time I eat a meal, so, if I just eat one big meal, I'll have it once in a day where I feel a bit drowsy and then equilibriate and then can be focused for the rest of the day.
Good for maximizing autophagy while not starving yourself. It’s way easier to manage your weight as well because meals turn into fueling up for the next day and less about the pleasure of eating and there is no way you’re going to eat 3000+ calories in on sitting unless you’re eating junk. I’ve been doing it for four months now and like it
>moxyte spam
It never is me, take my reddit activity and divide that by two then divide that time spent between IST, IST, IST and IST and you get the time I spend in here writing fricking captchas. Got better things to do. It's just ketoschizo being schizo.
It has made me insanely lean. I have started to stretch my eating window out to about 2 hours instead of one our or less though because especially on running days eating 3000+ calories all at once was making me pass out from exhaustion about 45 minutes after eating lol.
BUT, it definitely helps with energy regulation. I don't "crash" during a long run or lifting session because (at least I'm pretty sure) my body is basically trained to immediately use stored body fat for energy without skipping a beat.
>Makes your body enter starvation mode >Makes you gain weight >Makes you binge >Ages you faster >Makes you lose muscle mass >Makes you tired all the time >Makes you bald >Raises you cortisol >Fricks up your hormones
Just had three servings of cacio e pepe, two grilled turkey sandwiches and a peach. Tomorrow I'll eat better, today I was pissed off and got into a fight with a couple of gypsies and needed some shit food like pasta in order to not visit their camp and start mass murdering them.
>saves money >reduces appetite >larger fasting window means increased weight loss >less time and effort cooking
over the last few years of dieting I've found I lose weight the fastest doing OMAD, my appetite falls off the table and it makes sticking to a bigger deficit easier. Makes life easy too, I prep all my meals for the whole week sunday and don't have to think about it for the rest of the week.
I do a less strict OMAD currently tho, I OMAD lunch, but I drink some psyllium husk when I wake up (maybe breaks ketosis??) and then drink a protein shake post workout (might not break ketosis) which is like 5hrs after my meal window.
Either way after the first week or so, once your body adapts, I think OMAD helps better than any other diet with appetite suppression

both are not good for size if you actually want to look like you lift if you're a fatass then I can see it
no shit
I wouldn't do this when bulking, but a majority of this board only cares about ottermode
yeah because a majority of this board doesn't lift

I heard fasting is bad for your thyroid and makes you hypothyroid so maybe that
Which is exceptionally easy to count when you only have to do it one time a day.
There should one extra level of recursion here at least
The question is how many are going out?
>great tool for seasonal fat loss
>not great if you're performance focussed
The hard part is not the fasting, but restraining from over-feeding in your window
I have a hard time getting so much protein within a couple hours, so I do more two mad + a shake , 4 hour window, around my workout
Disagree. If you're doing 0mad, it's hard to overeat.
And if you are doing that, adjust what you're eating. I personally like it but am currently back to eating more regularly after seeing stuff about protein synthesis.
Meme diet for fat people with no self control so the only way they can lose weight is to eat on a mini binge purge cycle
Same with water fasting
This. Dont delude yourselves
I could not imagine doing this to my stomach. I eat 2 small meals of maximum protein and am full for hours. Today I had ground chicken, beans, eggs, onions, garlic. One meal would be like a stomach stretching routine competitive eaters do.
is two chicken breasts and a head of roasted cauliflower really that much?
Thats literally not what's even in the pic

Thats not how fat stores work so
>A lot of small dishes in rapid succession
So an eating disorder
No, it's very ordered. A lot more ordered than snacking all day.
Do you know what disorder means

It's great, saves money and your body can take a break without any difference in energy levels
Omad is an eating disorder that promotes binging based on delayed gratification that is promoted as a weight loss and health fad
Causes you to binge on calorie dense foods in the evening. Nothing the ketolards say is true and does the opposite.
You can't get fat on OMAD.
You'd really need to get out of your way to do so.
you have not seen the motivation of a fat moron.
I can do 1000 kcal dinners and 500 kcal desserts when bulking, I'm sure I could double that on accident if I only got one meal per day and didn't count calories.
Pfft easy, I've done that. Also wrote this
>inb4 u did it wrong
well what happened to "fast and feast" promise, huh? I'd love to have a friendly chat with Jason Fung with my fists
how tf are you gorging on 2000 calories of food in one meal? either you're lying or you're a genuine fatty fat pig
I do omad when I cut. I hate counting calories and I physically can't eat enough in one sitting to bust my tdee.
same. I just skip breakfast and lunch. saves time and money, and I lose about a pound a day on average without losing too much muscle
joe Delaney is one of us(a chud). he used seasoning police in one of his more recent videos videos

It's just a way some people eat. Kevin Gates does it. He fricks his cousin.
is his cousin hot?

I dont like to eat so much in one sitting every day.
And then I feel hungry at night and morning.
Its good for people Who cant control themselves

Post "insanely lean" physique lol
I have never once seen an example of anyone with a decent physique doing fasting greater than 16/8
>Makes your body enter starvation mode

Effective but extremely high risk of rubber banding where you slip up and drink like eight beers and eat an entire pizza.
t. me this previous saturday
OMAD means water fasting between meals. Most people who do OMAD don't even understand that.
Just had three servings of cacio e pepe, two grilled turkey sandwiches and a peach. Tomorrow I'll eat better, today I was pissed off and got into a fight with a couple of gypsies and needed some shit food like pasta in order to not visit their camp and start mass murdering them.

Only water in the fasted hours. Better yet, not even water in the fasted hours. no sugar drinks will hinder your progress.
100% nonsense
