It smells gross because that's your body telling you not to put industrial waste on your skin.
I'd rather get localized skin cancer on my skin (unlikely) than full on ass cancer or liver cancer. Check them.

He's not entirely wrong. You don't have to char yourself and get skin cancer or turn yourself into a leathery catcher's mit, you can slowly build up your tolerance to the sun by spending a small amount of time exposed to it every day.

It's going from "all day indoors" to "all day in the sun" that causes burns and skin damage.

Whatever might be in sunscreen almost certainly is less bad for you than unprotected sun exposure on high UV days or for extended periods. This is for white people, other subspecies I can't comment on.

I am schizo about endocrine disruptors and avoid all food products in visible plastic packaging, avoid processed food, avoid added sugar. Still I will accept whatever possible harm comes from SPF because I believe it pales in comparison to the harm caused by unprotected sun exposure.

Only way mineral stuff really works is by creating a thick enough layer to block most UV rays, unfortunately.

If I slowly allow myself to adapt and tan I can be alright, but for any prolonged period in the sun sunscreen is a requirement for me and any goy ingredients in it are surely better than the damage caused by the sun.
Now I also use retinoids on my face so I have to use it anyway. 🙁

    >Redpill me on sunscreen
    >Is it really that bad?
Are you dumb or is this bait?

Okay first off "What is Tanning"?
What is tanning? Tanning is purely and entirely skin damage from the sun. That's what gives the color of tanning, your skin is red and hen dark because you destroyed your cells with oo much sun exposure.
The tan only goes away when your body flushes out the dead and destroyed cells in your body.
Now how dangerous exactly is tanning / sun damage to the skin, that's debatable, because it depends on the person.
It's mostly a cancer risk, there are skin conditions related to tanning but those are rare and specific so we'll just concentrate on cancer.
The Sun is a gian nuclear reactor, thankfuly most of the dangerous sun rays and space radiation are stopped by the O-zone in the atmosphere.

So Tanning is a bit like smoking, if you do it regularly you have a high risk of cancer, but it also depends onyour genetics, some people are more likely to get cancer than others.
So it becomes a risk VS reward scenario.
People smoke cigarettes because it makes them feel good.
People tan because it makes them look good.
So should you protect your skin with suncreen? Yes, obviously you should.
There is no downside, that I know of, of wearing sunscreen.
Now let's talk about who is at risk :
The common misconception is that Redheads need to be careful wirth the sun. In reality it's people who have moles on their skin that are at risk, and usually it's the redheads that have the most moles.
So IF you have moles on your skin, the more you have the higher he chance to get skin cancer.
So just from a sience and health point of view : Everyone should be wearing sunscreen, even black people. But people with moles on their skin REALLY need to avoid skin damage from the sun at all cost, as they are highly likely to get cancer from it.

If suncreen is somehow bad for you, I'm all ears, but I'll also ask that sources or citations be provided.

Okay go on and challenge what I said then.

Sun Tan is not skin damage?
        Prove it then.
Because I got scientific sources to back me up.

        >Tanning outside or indoors can have dangerous consequences. What is tanning? In short, tanning is a sign of skin damage. While often associated with good health, the “glow” of a tan is the very opposite of healthy; it is evidence of DNA injury to your skin. Tanning damages your skin cells and speeds up visible signs of aging. Worst of all, tanning can lead to skin cancer.
        >It’s a fact: There is no such thing as a safe or healthy tan. Tanning increases your risk of basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma.
        >Your best defense is to avoid tanning altogether.

        Get fricked idiot.
        Post sources. You got none.
So I win by default and you lose by default.

Do the moles themselves become cancerous when exposed to the sun, or are they a sign that I'm susceptible to cancer? My body is practically covered with moles, I'm fricked aren't I?

You're not "fricked". You just need to be carful.
Simply don't tan, and wear sunscreen.

        >Do the moles themselves become cancerous when exposed to the sun, or are they a sign that I'm susceptible to cancer?
I think it's the moles themselves.
I could be wrong, but I think that's correct.

Sunscreen isn't that practical, and as a result, not that effective.

Use it as a last defense against the sun, not the first. Avoid going out, and if you do, have a physical barrier between you and the sun. And then you should be clothed in most areas, sun glasses, hat, long sleeves/long pants if possible, neck bandana if weather allows.

Your sunscreen then is only needed for areas that might not be protected otherwise, like your hands or neck, and that's way more practical to apply every hour you're out.

The opposite. You get restricted to sex ONLY when she wants. You're not allowed to frick other women, and depending on how crazy she is she might even decide porn and fapping counts as cheating.

      Women are a trap.

I was apathetic enough about using it until recent years. 30 now and I can see that if I don't mind my skin it'll get more wrinkles and old looking, so I wear sunscreen all the time on my face in the summer. Too cloudy and dark in winter here for it to do anything anyway so I don't bother then. I've noticed that people who take care of their skin look younger and those out all day in the elements look like leather

It doesn't matter whether you tan or burn, whether you're black or white, exposing your skin to the sun causes a massive amount of irreversible damage.
The tan or burn you see are skin cells that have been damaged killing themselves to prevent cancer. And a high cell death rate means you age faster.
So not only could the sun cause cancer, it definitely will make you age faster.

Obviously some of the ingredients found in sunscreen can cause cancer when applied to the skin, however, this pales in comparison to the damage caused by the sun on even an overcast day.
I would recommend you put on sunscreen EVERY day.

I'm sure you've all seen this image of a truck driver who face was exposed to the sun on one side his entire life.

He was exposed to UV-A through the glass while the beneficial UV-B and UV-C were blocked.
He was also likely driving in high UV areas that his skin is not evolved to deal with to begin with, at hours where not even darker skin tones would be out and exposed to the sun.

Do you live in Ireland or America? Location is really the number one factor here. If you put a Anglo in some fricking sun raped shithole like Australia, they'll fry like fricking toast. Put that same Anglo in like I dunno, Canada or maybe the more Nordic states and they'd probably be all good. Living at bad latitudes is really the biggest thing, no amount of sunscreen can protect some pasty white boy from the sun at a African latitude.

Its worth noting that being tanned doesnt mean your skin no longer takes UV damage. Tanning IS UV damage and even when tanned it continues.
Being tanned only means you wont get horribly sunburned.

I live in Florida and see so many leathery disgusting people with premature aging. The whole thing is stupid, I live 10 minutes from the beach but haven't gone to it in years. I don't stay outside in the sun for long, I don't ever tan. Even when I run I do it in the late evening, not just because I like being pale but because it's hot as shit. My favorite weather is dark overcast, even raining is preferrable to a sunny day.

I think the higher rates of Skin cancer are from 3 main sources:
    >People aren't getting gradual exposure to UV, no chance of adapting
    >Lower levels of antioxidants and vitamins in the diet. Since the Green Revolution, calories have increased, nutrition has not.
    >Higher calories in general. Growing cells are far more susceptible to DNA damage than quiescent cells. Eat less when you're exposed to sun and I guarantee you'll get burned less often.
