For instance, could I drink 1800 calores of soda a day and be fine because im at a deficit? Is it ok to eat 3000 calories of fruits and vegetables, despite being at a surplus?

    You will lose weight on 1800 calories of soda a day but your muscles will atrophy due to lack of protein, you would probably develop a frickton of other health issues, and your life would be hell as since nothing is happening in your digestive system your body would think it is starving to death and you'd feel the worst hunger imaginable every second of your life.

    You will gain weight on 3000 calories of fruits and vegetables and this will also be extremely unhealthy due to eating a carb heavy diet with 0 protein plus youd have to forcefeed yourself to eat that much, youd take massive shits and your farts would smell like pure sulfur and youd be rewarded with being a fat frick with 0 muscle.

    Tldr dont be moronic and eat normal

    calories only is for *weight* only, you need protein and shit so that you don't lose all your muscles. 1800 calories of soda would make you waste away like a cancer patient, your muscles would literally die with zero protein in your diet.

    If your only purpose is to lose weight, sure only eat sugar. But you’re gonna lose your muscle, any vital nutrients, feel awful, have no energy, and be hungry all the time. Eat good, varied, whole food at a calorie deficit and you’ll feel great, full, and lose weight. Google CICO and use MyFitness Pal.

    If you want to lose weight fast, you should attack it from every angle.
    Go into ketosis. Your body will turn into a fat burning machine and you will rarely have physical cravings. Mostly mental.
    That will make cutting your calories down easier. On keto, you can not feel hungry...longer, and go even deeper into a caloric deficit.
    Next, increase your protein to 1.6g/kg of your GOAL weight.
    Increase your activity. Burning Calories from activity (cardio, walking, weight training)3x a day for 20 minutes is WAY better than only doing one activity for 60 minutes once a day.
    Always include weight training, especially in large areas (legs, back), so they become calorie and carb sinks from new food, when you build new muscle (which you can still do in a calorie deficit as long as protein needs are met).
    Target areas that seem fatter than others. Thats your body telling you, it's weak there and there isnt enough muscle in that area to absorb the food.
    That covers it.
    Source - I was 204 in 6/2023 and I'm 158 now. Will be shredded for beach season.

      CICO keto OMAD is the best cutting diet there is, simply because you directly use your fat and don't go as hungry.
      If you're a fatass who just wants to lose weight, you can eat whatever you want, as long as you're on a deficit. But if you're a IST anon, it's important to get protein in, otherwise your body will start breaking down your muscles (gains) for protein.
