hamstrings, also glutes, but the purpose is to get the hamstrings.
I don't see the purpose. Seems like a great way to risk your back if you get sloppy.
Romanian Deadlifts are actually an exercise intended for Olympic Weightlifters. The one who is more popular is usually confused with romanian is actually called Straight back Straight Leg Deadlift and is mainly a hamstring exercise
It's awesome for glute and hamstring hypertrophy because it incorporates a controlled negative unlike conventional or SLDL. This fact also automatically limits the weight you can use which has a positive effect on the stimulus to fatigue ratio of rdls. You can spam them without worrying too much about systemic fatigue.
i’ve been doing hip thrusts and feel my quads fatigue before my glutes. i might just be moronic but spamming reverse lunges, rdl, and kettlebell swings seems like enough to me idk
If you feel your quads too much during hip trust, that's because your legs are too close to your body, you should have your feet placed further away from your body with a slight bend in the knee, not full on 90° as I guess you have right now
Unlike the glutes, hamstrings lose range of motion the more bent your knees are at the bottom of the exercise since they insert below the knee. That's why stiff legged deadlifts, rdl included target them more. It is the best hamstring exercise known to man, a thousand times better than leg curls.
I was scared of snapping my back and avoided deadlifts for years. Developed a muscle imbalance by not hitting my hamstrings hard enough, which exacerbated my lower back issues. Now I do deadlifts and good mornings. it's all about form, which takes time to understand. Hamstrings are probably the number one overlooked major muscle group by new lifters.
Like a deadlift, but with a controlled negative and without the arbitrary ROM determined by your height and whoever wrote the rules of olympic weightlifting (plate diameter).
Cuz you probably deadlift in some kind of perfect form for urself, only moving in super focused lane and U re strong there, but as soon as angle changes U gonna snap it fricking shit up.ur overall back might be very weak
They're fantastic for an accumulation/hypertrophy block. Go from a decent deficit and take a wider grip and you can get an insane ROM
Did a set of 10 with 4pl8 and it was harder than 5pl8 x10 conventional
When I do this my hips shift to the right when bent over. If I try to straighten out my lower back feels like it is going to snap. Go on without me bros
Romanians

Simply do not get sloppy then anon
It feels like the safest back exercise you can do

I love compound movements so fricking much it’s unreal.

You know the gym police won't arrest you if do a controlled negative on a regular deadlift right
it's not fun if you don't slam the barbell on the floor
trains surgeons
it's literally the best posterior chain exercise
great for glutes, great for hammies, if women weren't moronic they'd be doing these instead of spamming hip thrusts every day

It's so morons can injure there back

These have made my hams and glutes absolutely explode line nothing else. I've got definition and striations in my legs I've never had before.
I do back extensions, is that close enough?
Have to do both or all three. RDL, Nordics and back extensions. That's what my conditioning guy says.
WHY DOES MY BACK ALWAYS FRICKING HURT IN THIS???
I deadlift 405 for reps but doesn't matter if i use dumbbells or bar it just fricking hurts my back
Cuz you probably deadlift in some kind of perfect form for urself, only moving in super focused lane and U re strong there, but as soon as angle changes U gonna snap it fricking shit up.ur overall back might be very weak
Can't you just resist the negative/descent on a deadlift and get the same benefit?
Somewhat yes, I just do both, have one heavy DL day and one lighter variant like RDLs
You probably suck at hinging from your hip
As well as hams and glutes, it hits upper back better than deadlifts or stiff legs
calves
It’s meant to help you get in shape for stealing
First you lift and steal the bar, then you lift and steal a car

I do them with a snatch grip, hammer my lats and upper back.
picking up stuff from the floor, like wallets
