heartburn can at least be fought off, acid reflux however is a fricking curse. >can't lift >can't run >can't eat or drink >can't even fricking lie down
Prilosec and pray to god, try to flush gut by drinking obscene amounts of water
>omeprazole
Take famotidine instead.
I took omeprazole for almost a year and found out the hard way that I had some mineral/vitamin deficiency later on, primarily magnesium.
I'm in the same boat as you, I went to a naturopathic doc and he told me to get off of it and warned me that doing so will reintroduce all the bacteria to your gut that was previously suppressed, resulting in basically a 3 day hangover. Wasn't pleasant, but I'm glad I'm off of it now. Maybe I should give Magnesium a shot
He cared for my health more than the previous physician who prescribed me, a 24 year old (at that time) man, hypothyroid meds and then told me the resulting heart palpitations were because I was unvaxxed.
I'd go so far as to say I'll never go to a non-naturopathic physician ever again as a result. If I wanted unnecessary pharmaceuticals pressed on me by sociopathic drug dealers, I'd just go to the ghetto.
same, it just werks. I think by now it's my main motivation to stick with low carb because cmon, frick acid reflux. that shit made my life miserable for years and I don't wanna go back.
Same doing SSRIs for a while fricked up my digestive system, I got IBS and all that, after a month of not eating much except beef and eggs, it got all sorted out. My digestive system needed a few weeks of peace to fix itself.
I don't know if the diet is the best thing to do long term, but short term it fixed me.
Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water first thing in the morning, 1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water to treat acid reflux. Problem solved in less than month and as long as I stick to the apple cider vinegar in the morning a few days a week it doesn’t come back.
25yo?
Lol more like 16 years old, fml.
Nah jk Im actually 25yo now and barely have that shit anymore but its for life, luckily it was 9/10 on the shit scale at 16yo, had to go to the doc and shit now its usually between 0-3/10 and very rarely(once a year, aybe 2-3 times max) I go back to max fricked up cant even breath much less sleep.
This may help some of you as it did me. I tried all kinds of remedies in the past, including "treating" h-pilory, and nothing worked long term. Until I stopped drinking tap water. It was either something in the pipes, or the chlorine having a bad effect on me, but stopping drinking tap water cured me within days. If I overdo carbs I'd still get reflux sometimes, but it's extremely rare nowadays as I also make sure not to eat too much carbs, maybe once every year or two. If I do long distance running regularly, I don't have to watch the carbs either. For bottled water, always choose the one with the highest amount of magnesium and calcium you can find.
tl;dr stop drinking tap water, watch your carb intake, or do long distance running.
>tfw have silent reflux / GERD
I don't usually have any symptoms like heartburn which is good but since I don't take any medications for it I wonder how much it's gonna frick me up in the long run
Acid continuously burning my throat can't be very healthy
Also have silent reflux. I have been clearing my throat constantly for years, had no idea it was from reflux. Had dental problems too, also from reflux.
Then I had an upper endoscopy and I now have Barrett's Esophagus, which can become esophageal cancer.
So now I'm taking omeprazole and supplements to try to counteract the loss of minerals.
I have heard of someone curing their acid reflux by training their muscles. They are at a slightly declining position, and slowly in erased the decline over several months. This increased the resistance for the swallowing muscles to work against. Eventually the muscles were strengthed and this prevented reflux

i don't have reflux at all when standing, but can't sleep horizontal, have to use a shitload of pillows, shit sucks, i love horizontality but can't do it anymore
I'm battling this myself right now. One of the things that seems to help is skipping breakfast, eating a clean lunch and dinner, and no snacking in between. Seems when I constantly have food digesting in my gut my stomach never gets a chance to fully empty and this aggravates the issue.
Actually I got it super early in my teens and it was when I got skinny lol
I stopped eating junk food and instead started drinking energy drinks by the frick ton,in just a few months of 2-3 liters a day of Monster/RedBull/Pepsi I got fricked.
nexium is horrid, like all pips, made me burp and want to throw up everytime I did something a bit taxing. It does stop the reflux though at least
also to add: i have no heartburn, pain, and my only symptoms are debilitating nausea and the burping. ive lost like 20 pounds since this all started one day
I fixed it by 16 hour intermittent fasting (fasting starts 2 hours before I go to sleep)
George St Pierre fixed his insides with intermittent fasting as well
semajewtide gave me horrible acid reflux for a couple weeks. cant imagine living with that shit permanently.
>semajewtide gave me horrible acid reflux for a couple weeks. cant imagine living with that shit permanently.
lower the dosage
had to stop drinking protein shakes before bed because i was waking up in the middle of the night choking on reflux

gives me dissociative disorder for some reason, kek
I fixed it by doing nocarbs for a few weeks.
Thanks mate. Acid reflux annoys me too but some good ol' ketard humour cheers me right up.
KYS Moxyte
Same, week 3 on keto/carnivore and it's completely gone.

Ask me how I know you don't drink milk and raw eggs
Rabeprazol, you fricking moron
You say that both rudely and like we should all know this exists and that its easy to get.
I gave up grapefruit juice and it went away.
But is life even worth living without grapefruit juice?
Just eat food upside down for 6 months and it'll go away permanently.

That dude just gave himself barret's esophagus.
>he doesn't keep a food diary to identify problematic foods
NGMI
No this is sacred fire and you must cultivate it
Srsly it is painful. Cut back to a very simple diet, lots of water, and sleep in an elevated position for a week.
Take some TUMS homie
Only get this when I ate too much goyslop.
So don’t eat too much goyslop
Just do a 3 day water fast bro. It'll solve itself.

I'm 27 and I don't get heartburn, my 70yr old dad does all the time.
This may help some of you as it did me. I tried all kinds of remedies in the past, including "treating" h-pilory, and nothing worked long term. Until I stopped drinking tap water. I have this shit for 3 years now, on pantoprazole for months, and I lost my gallbladder, it's over
I have heard of someone curing their acid reflux by training their muscles. They are at a slightly declining position, and slowly in erased the decline over several months. This increased the resistance for the swallowing muscles to work against. Eventually the muscles were strengthed and this prevented reflux
They make wiener rings now to cure severe cases of reflux
>silent reflux
i don't have reflux at all when standing, but can't sleep horizontal, have to use a shitload of pillows, shit sucks, i love horizontality but can't do it anymore
Silent reflux is a little different. You never feel the burning. You just notice the effects of it, like constant scratchy or mucousy throat.
You just sound like regular GERD.
It's basically the same thing though.
Would that not lead to atrophy of the already weak sphincter to have a permanent assist for it?
This is an extreme solution, like if your sphincter is gone and you can't keep food down. And it's got bad downsides.
>wake up from acid reflux
>drink a glass of milk
>go back to sleep
It's that easy
I'm battling this myself right now. One of the things that seems to help is skipping breakfast, eating a clean lunch and dinner, and no snacking in between. Seems when I constantly have food digesting in my gut my stomach never gets a chance to fully empty and this aggravates the issue.
>symptom
>people unironically treat it like a cause
>chicken breast
>broccoli
Here I cured it for you
>Drink hot green tea an hour before bed, 3 times a week for a month
>Went away
Just go to any grocery store and fix it for $5
GOMAD cured my acid reflux
Stopped eating eggs and it went away completely. Feels good man. Guarantee it's something in your diet
>hiatal hernia
is this thread full of fatties? i've never heard of a jacked dude have heartburn/acidity unless they were doing 3gms/lb protein diet

i've been on nexium for the past 2 months does it get any better bros
i still get constant burping and nausea after meals
nexium is horrid, like all pips, made me burp and want to throw up everytime I did something a bit taxing. It does stop the reflux though at least
what alternatives do you recommend? The doc said stay on the nexium until the feeling goes away
also to add: i have no heartburn, pain, and my only symptoms are debilitating nausea and the burping. ive lost like 20 pounds since this all started one day
just lose weight you moron subhumans
its 90% the cause
