I wasn't implying that he should.

I don't know what that is or what's in it and I'm too lazy to look it up. There was a time where I'd use dandruff shampoos frequently and would get more dandruff a couple of days later.

With curly hair, you get scabs and flakes because your scalp is too dry. Washing with that stuff 3x a week is just repeatedly rinsing out all of the oils your scalp needs, doubly important for curly hair. Wash your hair with conditioner instead, and find a good leave in conditioner that isn't full of shit. I haven't gotten dandruff since.

NTA but nizoral is good for combating some forms of dandruff (also has the bonus of being a light dht inhibitor, so you could stave off hair loss if that’s an issue).
Docs recommend to use it a few times a week but I find that’s only good for people with very straight hair, otherwise it dries out your hair badly. Dry scalp is another big culprit of flaking. Look into getting a scalp moisturiser. Get a moisturising conditioner you can use after the nizoral and a lotion you can apply to the scalp after you get out of the shower

Ding ding ding! We have a fricking winner. Now ask yourself why?

Quick run down: It’s a fungus that spreads when you avoid sunlight. Get some fricking sun and it will go away. You’re probably vitamin D deficient as well.

the sun's rays must of course hit the spots, they should not be covered by hair and a cap

Makes sense, I had this on my groin area for years and thought it was just jock itch and kept using hand sanitizer for temporary relief til I couldn't take it anymore.
Scrubbed my balls with Selsun Blue, the first couple days was hell. My balls and foreskin got all dried and scaly but after that it turned very soft and smooth and.no more itch. An extra bonus on top of that the skin in my groin area turned whiter.

I think I've had a mild case of seborrheic dermatitis that flared up badly and worsended because of a singular coconut oil application. Don't feed the fungus

use tea tree oil instead of jojoba or coconut oil, it's a mild anti-fungal

I use MCT oil to keep this shit at bay and it has worked pretty well and moisturizes too. Its kinda messy but I lightly coat my face and scalp and massage it in to the problem areas. I do this once every two-ish weeks an hour or two before I shower. Have not even thought about it in months until I saw your post.

Don’t have any perfect solutions but for me using a scalp scrubber in the shower helps avoid a build up of flakes/scabs. Also getting hair cut often and relatively short seems to help but I’m not sure. I also rarely use shampoo.

My dandruff was probably not fungal in nature, but rather just a dry scalp. Ketoconazol just made it flakier, and it would affect me more in winter.
My hairdresser recommended using plain vinegar to wash my hair, which has been remarkably effective. I'm not sure how it works, but every couple of weeks I'll get some flakes/itchiness and a shower with vinegar shuts it up.
Have also bought sulfide free shampoo with tea tree oil, but haven't used it much yet.
Cold showers (at least for my head) also seem to help.

Treat is an autoimmune disorder because that's what it is. Something in your body is dysfunctional and causing inflammation. First step I'd say is go carnivore as an elimination diet. Get your minerals and vitamins checked also, sebderm is linked to zinc deficiency for example.

It's an autoimmune disease. There's no cure and in the end all treatment and home remedies will just make the issue worse. You just learn to live with it.

Oils naturally occur on your body. Your skin produces them.
The only way to get rid of those oils would be to just rip off your skin.

I've had that shit appear under my bear for no reason. I've never had anything before. Now it looks like I have acne scars even tho I've never had acne there. Went to 2 different dermatologists, they gave me steroid creams (didn't do shit), shampoo nizal bs (didn't do shit), tracolimus or tacrolimus (didn't do shit).
Now, everything I put on my skin is 100% cotton, bedsheets also cotton, my body wash is "natural", my laundry soap is also some anti-allergy bs. I don't eat anything processed, and still, it isn't better.

I gave up, at least my beard covers it
