      I would say no. Your rib cage is made up of bone and cartilage, neither of which you can hypertrophy

        Actually both can hypertrophy. Bones literally get stronger and denser as you lift but that's a mostly internal process, though if you smash your bones you can create bone spurs or other new growths. If you've ever seen monks headbutting poles, they have a gangly hard growths on their foreheads.
        Cartilage can also heal and actually grow bigger in more practical ways, but since it's avascular, it's a slow process of diffusing metabolic factors from connected tissues.

      Pullovers expanding the ribcage is definitely an old wives tale, but it's still a great movement that it's worth doing. Building lats and delts, as well as building your quads is your best bet for getting that look, but also making sure you're at a proper bf% that your waist isn't just fat.
