Seriously though, how DO we stop the obesity crisis?
>Inb4: personal responsibility
There is no world in which hundreds of millions of Americans collectively decide to stop stuffing their face even if it's true
>Inb4: deportation on non whites
We would still be dealing with an obesity rate of 40% and climbing which remains abhorrent.

Apart from sending every fitness "influencer" to the bottom of the ocean by tying an anchor around their neck and giving every fat person a personal trainer, we could start by re-educating Americans on the value of protein in the diet.

What we need is a mandatory device that can track your calories and you eat them it will then alert the user when they are over maintenance by say 200/300 calories. If they continue to go over it they will be charged per kcal if they continue to eat.

everything ranging from meme shit like structuring cities around walking and biking to a better food industry and government policy regarding toxic shit like pic related. People before had better-quality food and less amounts of it, they were also more physically active due to the entire way society worked. Now everything is designed around making you as comfortable as possible, never in history has anyone had to actively worry about being obese and take extreme measures like today so as to avoid it, something went wrong sometime in the last few decades

    Nothing.
    It is too late.
Obese folk are now the majority. We are omnipresent. We have bought your government, your media, and soon we will breed your women.
Us fatties will soon become 90 percent of the population, bonebacks like you will be tossed into camps, worked to death, and used as sex slaves. Your bodies will then be used as meat for our burgers and steaks.
    You can not stop this.
    Resistance is futile.
    We have won.

    >make lobbying illegal to stop food industries from influencing policy (among many other benefits)
    >reinstate actual standards in schools
    >make comprehensive nutritional and physical education absolutely mandatory
    >make all real, whole foods tax-free and offer major tax deductions on their production and distribution
    >make gym memberships, exercise equipment, and health supplements tax deductible
    >ban HFCS, all sugary foods are now required to at least use actual sugar
    >make it legally a form of child neglect to allow a child in your care to become obese, penalty of losing custody
    >force all restaurants to make the full nutritional information of their menu accessible via QR codes in-restaurant and on their websites, both placed in plain view
    >ban deceptive nutritional labels (like listing the serving size as half an individual serving package; nobody is eating half a packet of ramen)
    >deprioritize bariatric patients for treatment for problems caused by being a fatass
    >mandate warning labels akin to those on cigarettes for foods like sugary cereals and soda
    >ban advertising such foods to children
    >encourage active transportation by creating more and better protected footpaths and bike lanes
    >encourage people to be outside by keeping parks and green spaces clean and beautiful

you already pay for them with your premiums, universal healthcare would reduce the costs across the board because the government single payer would have greater negotiating power to keep costs low. Medicare already does this. Whenever a hospital says "that 15 minute consultation with a doctor is $900" Medicare can just say "no, here's $150 though"

America also have cooking classes in school; home ec.
But for some odd frickin reason, every adult and child wants to blame the school system instead of looking at their lazy moron children and realizing children would rather play than to study. Due to this, of course there is no more room for home ec classes. We spending too much time trying to make study/work into something fun instead of telling kids you need to work hard.

You don't need to do anything, it's going to happen naturally. Food is extraordinarily, anomalously cheap right now. Our production of food is mega optimized. That means calories are very cheap to come by. This is the poor fat moron's primary form of entertainment.

In time, and we're seeing it right now, everything will get so overly expensive that it will no longer be easy to buy those chips or cakes or treats or whatever. People will be forced to slim down by way of exorbitant cost of food.

Really obesity was our icarus moment, the period where we truly solved the issue of "food" and made it perversely cheap for all here to the point that people ate for fun. That isn't going to last forever, the wheel is turning the other way now.

    >how DO we stop the obesity crisis?
The same way all societal change happens these days: normalize being thin and athletic as a beauty standard, encourage people to prepare their own food from fresh ingredients with takeout a rare treat, and on the flip side mercilessly mock and ostracise the overweight, let along the obese. If something is unthinkable to the average npc drone, by logical extension it becomes undoable.

How do we achieve this? I'm tempted to say all-out thermonuclear warfare, but the fact that peaceful Asian nations can have thinness enshrined culturally suggests that all it needs is a critical mass of people to hold the same opinions, and this could be achieved through media propaganda, perhaps reinforced by the legal system (tax surcharges for the obese, workplace disincentives, obese children threatened with being taken into care, etc)

We could do it, if enough of us wanted.
