Settle the debate. If you're 25% bf skinny fat, Do you cut then bulk, bulk then cut, maintain, or do they all result in the same way?

the important thing is the training
    Diet doesnt matter very much
The reason skinnyfats hyperfixate on diet is because diet doesn't take effort

Training is easy, eating enough is hard if you grew up eating clean

Skinnyfats did not grow up eating clean
That's why they look like that
Realistically a skinnyfat is just a guy who's a few years or less away from being a fat bastard

Calorie deficit to lose fat. There’s literally no other way. Anyone who says otherwise is a moronic Black person.

Eat your protein and you can gain while in caloric deficit. Your body fat will provide needed energy to gain muscle until you are pretty lean.

This, especially in untrained individuals gaining on a cut is not especially uncommon:

Was skinnyfat, lost weight and looked even worse because I had zero muscle and a fricking awful pear body. Gained another 15 Kg and on the next cut I looked great. You can afford to be fat for a little while more so that you actually look good after you loose it

this tbh, cutting as a skinnyfat can be bad, bulking too, its pretty weird but as I said here

I tried cutting as a skinnyfat and I felt like shit, was always tired and couldn't improve my lifts. I'm bulking now at 19% bf.

you have literally no muscle as skinnyfat so cutting that low doesnt really help you, and youll feel like shit constantly, you just gotta keep lifting and eat close to maintenance or slightly above it

You lift and eat real food

You eat healthy, eat a lot, get quality sleep, go hard in the gym 4-6 days a week and do some cardio. There you go. Debate settled.

Assuming you're a beginner, you lift heavy on a slight deficit or at maintenance and see where that takes you.

For me im 22%with 35in around my waist cause all of my fat accumulates there. I get told i look lanky day to day with my clothes on.

Skinny fat is the best way to describe myself

          Anonymous

what are your other measurements. I have a 35 inch waist too but I also have 15.5 inch arms and a 43 inch chest so it helps to not look as skinny fat in clothes

      Anonymous

      Probably around 16%

Despite what the other two replies said, I would say do a small cut and then bulk. You'll look more muscular after your cut and you'll have the foundation to slowly bulk without basically instantly entering 20% tier.

Who gives a shit? The type of person to ask "bulk or cut" when they've just started lifting is the same type of person to quit in a year or less.

      >yeah bro just lift don't care about diet what do you mean you are neither progressing your lifts nor starting to look better who cares

        Anonymous

        >you are neither progressing your lifts
Entirely an issue with your training
If you're serious and actually try you can progress your lifts on a cut as a noob

        Anonymous

Honestly, a good chunk of "skinnnyfat" people would be better off just lifting for 6 or so months.
Seriously, if you look like a bag of potatoes, you don't have the coordination, work capacity, recovery ability, etc to even begin to build muscle. Wondering "bulk or cut" when your ttempt to lift resembles a spastic trying to walk isn't gonna do much.
If new lifters used half the time they spend obsessing over minutia actually working out, they might be at a point where defining some real goals actually matters.

I'm 178cm tall and i'm eating 1500kcal a day and the weight loss seems to be stalling. I lost 4cm on the gut, 2 or 3 kg in 2 or 3 weeks but now it seems to be stalling.
I go to the gym 3 times a week but let's pretend i don't even fricking go, i'm counting every goddamn calorie. The daily average is 1450kcal.
How the frick, it shouldn't be stalling

      Anonymous

You lost mostly water weight before. Now the hard part starts. If you truly eat 1500 cals a day you can expect 500g lost per week. But not linearly. Weigh yourself everyday and look at the graph.
One refeed day (eating at maintenance) is also supposed to help but that’s a lot of broscience already.
You will push past the plateau trust me just give it time

There couldn't be too much water weight because i didn't really go from shit diet to good, i just watched exactly the amount. But okay, just venting among autists because i'm lonely and scared the end of vacation is gonna frick my diet up.
