Were you trying to lose weight? And what did you do to adapt well?

    yes
eat some fricking carbs you moron

    >nooo I must put my body into stressful and inefficient metabolic pathways because other fatsos on the internet told me to
just STOP. Your brain runs on carbs. Low carb is fine. Intermittent fasting is fine. Vegetarianism is even fine. All of these, including keto are just are just strategies to mitigate total food intake.

I am 250 pounds at 21 years old (5’11 male), and Imm trying to get to 200 pounds by the end of the year. I know keto fricks you up but what are other options for effective weight loss?

Bro if you're 21, it won't take you all year to drop 50lbs if you're athletic at all. Im 34 and can cut 15-20 pounds in a month. Wife hates how easy it is.

At 250 pounds? I can barely even walk lmao. I don’t even walk tbh I waddle. But I’ve been doing elliptical everyday burning 400ish calories until this keto flu shit fricked me up.

But thanks for the encouragement, my goal is 190 pounds by July

You'll get there anon. Almost everyone in your life is going to let you down at some point, make sure you're not one of them. I'll also suggest pilates and yoga, as well as bands. There's plenty you can do now, until you're able to do more. I believe in you

You don't really need exercise to lose weight, even though exercise is obviously generally good for you.
When it comes to the feeling of hunger, I personally never found that a caloric deficit achieved by more training feels any better than a caloric deficit achieved by eating less. A 500 Calorie deficit always leaves me slightly hungry, no matter if I change my calories in or my calories out.

        W..why dont you just run?
I gained 40lbs in a year (it is 40lbs above my basic walkaround weight) via lifting much more and eating and dropping smoking.
You probably can lose 50 simply by not eating more and just jogging 1x q day for 30 mins.

The key to all body transformation is that your body cannot just decide to change. Your mind can, body cant. Body reacts and adapts, so you need to push through the weak phase for some month and then it will start producing more energy, losing fat etc.
Imagine like having a switch, which can be turned only with discipline

Do carnivore instead and you will be there in 6 months. Research it first. You need to eat plenty of eggs, liver, and bone marrow to get your vitamins.

You have to stick through it. Try easing your way into it. Light carbs, under 30g per day

I did keto for 6 months and lost 80 pounds two years ago. 5’10. 260 down to 180. Gained 40 back in the next 7 months because I didn’t learn how to actually maintain my body. Actually controlling diet and exercise and accepting patience and gradual change. Currently 195.

If you need to do the meme crash diet then embrace the jank my man. Keto flu happens in the first month and is death incarnate. No amount of sleep, supplements, or bone broth will avoid it. It goes away on its own and you have no hunger and strange energy levels after. I remember my sense of smell was ridiculous and I could smell restaurants from blocks away. Keto is great for losing weight quickly but it fricks up the bodies normal efficiency and destroys muscle as well even if you eat butt tons of protein. Also do not do this for too long. The acidification of your body will start leaching calcium from your bones to reach its desired equilibrium.

Do you think you could have lost 80 pounds in 6 months without keto?

Also we’re similar except my story is worse, went from 175 to 130 in 6 months back in 2020 with keto, but got depressed and my dad died so I got to 250 now. Probably diabetic but to afraid to check. I’m not trying to repeat history but my goal was to do keto this final time and then learn to balance my diet. 5’11 21 years old btw, was 18 in 2020

Oh yeah for sure but it would have been harder. The main point of keto is to not have the same hunger and mental strain of actually losing weight. Just count calories.

Sorry to hear about your dad. I don’t know your life but I’m sure he would want you to be happy and thriving. I’m in my thirties and actually type one diabetic. Go to the doctor if you think you have it. Don’t get this shit. You are young as frick. Don’t stress about this. Honestly it is significantly easier to get your shit together at your age. Shoot for 10 pounds a month.

I had the same issue and ended up giving up on keto. I coincidentally also got covid at the same time. I may try it again at some point.
I was also drinking a lot of salted bone broth, but I still had severe, crippling headaches.

You're only supposed to spend every other day in ketosis, not your whole life, no wonder you feel dreadful

Go carnivore instead. You most likely are low on proteins, amino acids, and vitamins. Go buy some liver and eggs. Throw out your vegetable oils. They are full of carcinogens and hormone blockers. Use butter or lard. Buy some vitamin C and take 1000mg.

Just do a whole day of pure carb refeed (READ: not ''cheat day'' of goyslop binge eating as a ''carb refeed'' is considered here, i mean a proper refeed) with white rice, pasta, honey, jam/marmalade, etc etc
