Sex Drive

Hello IST, first time poster here
I am a woman with pretty much zero sex drive
I have been working out lately and eating healthier for 2 weeks now but I have noticed no change in my sex drive
Is there something I can do to stop being an asexual freak?
If it matters I take birth control and anti-depressants plus daily vitamins

1000% the ssri's are nuking your libido. Birth control can be a detriment but it isn't horrendous. You might as well be castrated compared to ssri's. My gf takes control (depo shot) and we still go at it 2 times a week and I only see her on the weekends. 5 times a week maybe on the stray occasion she does stay.

The combination of birth control with depression medication is way, way worse than each separately.

Problem is the birth control really helps me with PMS and how much I bleed during my period
As for the anti-depressant medication, I can try discussing stopping it with my psychiatrist since life has been way less stressful lately
My husband also has a lower sex drive due to chronic illness that needs him to take so many meds, but he can at least have the urge to fap
As for me, I find absolutely nothing sexy enough to make me horny or whatever. Kinda sucks because I'm only young for so long

Is this a recent phenomenon or has it been this way for as long as you can remember? When were you started on SSRIs, and what was your libido like before that?

Well when I was a teenager I had a healthy sex drive but actual sex is way different
I'm constantly overthinking, its painful, I feel anxious due to the pain which causes me to be unable to feel excited and without birth control I am paranoid of getting pregnant
I thought getting in shape and eating healthier would fix this and it has sort of with me feeling less anxious and more energetic but the sex drive is still not there

Would you describe yourself as anxious in other areas of your life, or is it limited to physical intimacy? When (if) you jerk off, do you tend towards external stimulation or do you do any penetration? You might be in the same situation my girlfriend was in a while ago and we managed to overcome it together.

I am anxious when it comes to everything but mostly in terms of being a perfectionist and when I used to jerk off, the only way I could get off was from external stimulation and even then it takes ages

I’m also a woman. I was 100% asexual until age 20 which is when I started lifting and taking ssris at around the same time. Ever since then I have had the occasional sex dream. Funny thing is, I ONLY get horny in my sleep. As soon as I wake up the horny is gone. I don’t know what caused me to start having sex dreams. Could be maturing, lifting, or ssris. Can anyone relate? I have never heard of a case like my own. Perhaps I will get hornier as I age.

this used to be me too. when i was younger i would have very vivid sex dreams but i was never very horny when awake

Get off the birth control for a month and see if that restores your libido. If you're afraid of pregnancy keep it to junior high shit, your husband will probably appreciate it anyway if you try and you might end up relaxing and enjoying it if it's more relaxed and casual, it's not 'sex', you're just helping each other out.

Just because you dont have sex drive doesnt mean you cant blow him when he gets home femanon.
No relationship was ruined by more blowjobs, if anything itll get better. You should give him one every time he gets home. He doesnt have a low sex drive, he just doesnt see the point in initiating because you dont want it, just put his flaccid member in your mouth and he'll soon get hard.
        >Birth control for PMS
Yeah, just stop that anon, oh nooo you get emotional and your boobs hurt, who cares? Just deal with it.
If youre scared of unsafe sex, do anal or pull out.
        >Antidepressants
Dont see your psych, just reduce the dosage slowly by yourself, why did you get them anyway? If its suicidal thoughts, then decide what you wanted in life that you dont have and try and get it.

    >birth control
The side effects on your hormones are so bad, you would have an easier time being pregnant.

    >birth control
Kills sexual desire in many women.
    >Anti depressants
Kills libido in both men and women.

So you combine two libido killers. No wonder you're asexual as a result. Get rid of both of these pills if you want to feel like a normal fricking human again.

birth control is salvagable but she may never recover from the SSRI use. And if she does, she'll probably leave or cheat on her husband. Women tend to choose "weaker" men while on either because due to lack of drive and hypergamy.

A fine detail many have glossed over here is:
    >…within the last two weeks…
No major health/fitness improvements are going to reveal themselves within 2 weeks. This seems resoundingly within the arena of your medications and not your fitness regimen. Try circling back to the fitness regimen as a consideration in 12-26 weeks. Especially since that will give you plenty of opportunity and time to remove different variables and gauge the impact on your health. For instance, try a week of only lifting. Write down the results and how you feel. The next week try lifting and only your birth control. Record the results. So on and so forth.
