It is VERY AGGRESSIVE. It ruined my gut and forever made me super sensitive to most foods. I became lactose intolerant and gluten intolerant and generally queasy. Taking Acne Club pills (now called Pore Favor) works better less aggressively. It treats the root cause. DIM and vitamins ADEK, eat cauliflower and coconut. Apply green clay face masks. Tan mildly. Break a sweat often.
Keto healed my acne because I was practically diabetic and it reversed my insulin resistance.

NO stop fearmongering you morons. Isotretinoin is safe. I took it in high school and it fixed my horrible skin problems. Only sides: dry skin and random crying. Not emotional crying, my eyes would just leak for no reason. All went away.

Does Accutane do anything on the lips? I heard it makes the lips dry. But does it cause purging or skin turnover of the lips as well? If you had clogged pores on the lip?

Accutane is a miracle drug, yeah maybe it gave me autism or something but it definitely does what its advertised to do

1 year and a half
Been on accutane for 2+ years, started on a heavy dosage 60-70mg daily and gradually tapered off to 10mg once a week now, I probably don't even need it but growing up with that shit has me traumatized but I'll soon go down to 10mg biweekly and book another appointment with my derm and stop using it.
I've actually been on it twice, the first one worked terribly because the doctor had no idea how to prescribe it, and resulted in me getting worse acne along with a permanent rash.
Kept away from doctors for years and tried all kinds of homeopathic remedies, nothing which worked obviously.
Got in touch with a good derm clinic and the doctor there basically said it's isotretinoin or nothing at my stage. I was skeptic given my previous experience but the acne's gone now since I started.
First doctor probably prescribed too little for too short a period with no checkups.
Don't trust hacks and don't self dosage. I had monthly blood tests and check ups the first year, I even drank alcohol and still do, no issues with my liver or kidneys.
I was on it for 3-4 months and it cleared my shit up permanently. I have no regrets about taking it.

You made it out well on the other side probably without every sperging in a panic of restoring your flora with sauerkraut and kombucha and probioitic pills and fasting with failing organs. It went quickly for me even after I quit cold turkey the pills but my dad wanted me to tough it out. I still refused him but by then it was too late the damage had been done.
