I would personally say the weight lifting club because it's easier to branch off from if you were interested in other sections of fitness

Get the frick out b***h ass moron

Hopefully you can socialize well and are in good enough shape, otherwise you’re gonna get filtered no matter your choice. To answer your question, fencing seems like the more fun option.

I did fencing for one year in highschool and would have continued if i didnt move halfway through and found wrestling alot more fun. Sabre is the only fun weapon dont bother with the others unless you actually dont want to have fun.

I'll break it down for you
    >Weight lifting club
    >You can choose to work towards a masc or femme physique.
    >It's just plain useful, what you gain here, you'll be able to use in your day to day life.
    >Everyone and their grandma does this though so you don't necessarily have an edge over anyone else, you just don't become bottom % of ppl
    >Fencing
    >It's just femme, so if you are a woman or want to be a woman this is a good choice
    >You won't be able to use this at all in day to day life realistically
    >You learn a unique skill that a vast majority of people on Earth do not know, might be useful one day.
    I vote weight lifting club.

Fencing if you have enough money to buy the hood they wear and a quiver of those sticks they hold. You don't need to join a weight lifting club to lift weights.

    Fencing club.
You can lift on your own.

You just reminded me to join mine. I've joined my University's kickboxing and music clubs so far, but I have one more open slot. I wanna use a sword.

OP here, do you think I'll be good at it though? I was always very good at sports but ones like basket ball or ping pong were the ones I was bad at. I don't want to invest in something I'll end up being crap at

You should join fencing, you need a club to fence you don't need a club to lift weights

I was also very interested in rowing but it's the most expensive club at my uni. It would cost £310 to join total (membership, lessons, kit) whereas it would only cost me £25 for fencing lessons which I can upgrade to a full membership for another £15. Why is rowing so much more expensive? Who knows, maybe to keep out the poors

Fencing will frick with your physique, I’ve been doing it for the majority of my life and my blade arm side is noticeably larger and stronger than my other.

Solution: Do longsword HEMA instead of pussy ass sport fencing.

I've lived in Europe all my life and I've never once seen a HEMA club or known a person doing HEMA. It's a meme for neckbeards who want to larp pagan and shit

I’d go with fencing. College is a time to try new shit and if you don’t try it now you probably never will. Weight lifting you’ll have lot of opportunities later to get into it.

OP here. Here's my Uni club list (yes, I know I go a shit midwit uni, you don't need to tell me). What do you guys think I should try? I'm up for most things but I'm at a loss of what I should actually do. I'm also just interested in what catches the eyes of you guys

Fencing. You can lift on your own. Later, combine the two and do HEMA

Do both. I was a fencer until college and competed nationally. It's an odd sport where your average fencer is garbage but the top of the sport is hyper elite and competitive. I realized I could be top 3 in my state but only around top half in my age group on a national level. It's a fun sport though and local tournaments are usually a good time

I lift on my own time and do fencing at my college, I love it. It's fun and is decent for cardio depending on how much you move

Hey OP, I saw the weightlifting club offers powerlifting and (olympic) weightlifting.

Without a doubt, join the weightlifting club so you can learn the snatch and clean & jjerk. Yes, it is more expensive, but weightlifting will give you unparalleled mobility, strength, and body awareness. Gymnastics is perhaps the only other sport that can develop pure athleticism like weightlifting. There's a reason many sports use the snatch and clean & jerk as accessory work, they're effective.

You'll also need to drop 100-200 on weightlifting shoes. The club members will help you pick. Show up in flat soled shoes like Chucks. If the fee is too much, talk to the head coach about cleaning bars, plates, etc or helping out for reduced membership fee.

Fencing is fun, but I hate the rule set too much to bother to continue training in it. It's pretty good for learning footwork for other combat sports, though. If you want to pick up rich girls, it's probably not a bad thing to get into.
