Should I take the PowerBlockpill instead of building a standard home gym?

Should I take the PowerBlockpill instead of building a standard home gym? PowerBlocks and a bench is all PewDiePie used and he got a pretty nice physique.

Frick, in the grand scheme of things resistance is resistance. Start training today, use what you have in hand, for example calisthenics. Learn to put effort in your training, learn consistency. Than leverage it using one tool or another. This is Reddit curse, worring about tools, or rather commodities to cons00me, than craft itself.

I already train with adjustable dumbbells, I ask because I'm getting close to their maximum weight.

Of course only an anonymous poster on a FITNESS themed imageboard would compare himself to people who never lifted weights in their life. Why would you compare yourself to people who are doing exact same thing when you can cope by comparing yourself to someone who doesn't do it at all?

you realise looking like a brown sack of veins only impresses other brown sacks of veins?

The idea that people "compete" to see how deformed and ugly they can look is a headfrick.

You would probably call Alan Thrall a DYEL because he's an actual athlete made of sinew and functional muscle

Dumbells are better than Barbells for hypertrophy, yes. But if you want quicker results and reach closer to failure, machines are gonna be helpful.

If your goal is to look like PewDeepie then that shit is probably enough. You could probably do it with just calisthenics too.
I think people overestimate what you need and whatever you need to put in if your goal is not actually to get big

Powerblocks are based. I have them with an incline bench and its an unstoppable combo.

Pewds has a half rack. He indeed started with just powerblocks and a bench but he has stated he fricking loves being able to squat and do pullups

In that case get a pull up/dip station too at the very least. Your leg training will lack but it's still a good start

I remember in one of his videos he showed his home "gym" and it was just a bench with two adjustable dumbbells

Could you really achieve this body with just those?

      Anonymous

Yes, but it took him two years and he was already lean. Just get a pull up bar too and start working out. Oh, and make sure to get an Italian girlfriend to cook you vegetarian pasta, that's the key

Just shows if you lift, you will make gains. Don't need meme workouts or equipment to build muscle.

Power blocks are shit, if lifting is something you're seriously passionate about and plan on doing forever then its worth investing in some proper equipment, set aside a few grand for gym. It's a long term investment, if you buy good quality stuff it will last a lifetime

And as the other guy said, pewdiepie himself has more equipment now. He only had the power blocks and shitty bench when he first started

Powerblock are not shit at all in any way.
Feel free to buy more unnecessary shit though so you can feel better

save money and buy adjustable db's and buy plates here and there. ive got two db's and 60kg in plates and it cost frickall because it was used.
gotta commend pewdiepie in that he shows alot of people that you dont have to go autistic on lifting to get results. and that it isnt more complicated than just being consistent

I just use those screw dumbells, an ez curl bar, 20kg plates, bench, dip, pull up bar. I aint much but you can sorta make a physique with not much stuff, mainly because i hate public gyms

year and a half? 2 years? ish probably could have been done faster if I was dialed in with nutrition

A problem with dumbbells compared to barbells is how hard you have to stabilise them. Those powerblocks seems to exacerbate that because how ugly their weight distribution seems to be. You should get screw in dumbbells if you want anything.
