Just keep working out OP. Don't worry about bulking/cutting until you're actually IST. It's silly to worry about that at your stage.

totally wrong. You will get absolutely nowhere without eating right. If you don't eat at a surplus, you won't get stronger. If you don't eat at a deficit, you won't get leaner. You have to cycle in order to get anywhere. It's up to you which you do first.

I used to look like that. Eat better and lift more. Stop getting so much of your calorific requirement from simple sugars.

Assuming you are inexperienced, skellymaxx and gain lifting experience. You should bulk only if you are experienced. Most beginners don't know how to lift properly to failure and just needlessly gain weight when they bulk.

If you can't see your abs, then cut. Skinnyfats who bulk become fatsos with little to no visible muscle. Why? Because when you start, you're doing 80% of everything wrong. If you're cutting, at least you're getting some definition and slowly preparing your muscles to work. Once you've cut enough to be AT LEAST ottermode, you are ready to bulk.

Do what everyone else has said: start lifting, eat better (not necessarily more). You aren't even DYEL at this point, you are a worm. You do not require specific nutritional advice at this stage, you require more exercise to wake up your body, activate hormones, and start building muscle.

I was in the exact same position and 6 weeks of lifting completely changed my body with no specific diet. You do not need to cut OR bulk, you just need to exercise a lot more.

im trying to escape skinnyfat for 2 months now, i was cutting the first 2, went down to like 15% but my workouts were really fricking rough and I was always tired, my faced improved a lot
I'm bulking now, it doesn't really make sense going skelly mode without muscles, ill just bulk up til end of year to like 25% bf then cut, but like anons said, when you're this mode it doesnt really matter if you bulk or cut, you just need to lift consistently and do cardio everyday

Do I need to do any cardio if I look like an even skinnier version of op or should I only stick to lifting?

      Anonymous

Do cardio if you want, its healthy and shit but isnt strictly necessary. Can help with endurance for lifting sessions

For all the skinnyfats itt, most of you would become skeletor if you cut. The protruding gut will slowly reduce its apparent size as workouts direct nutrients to muscles in your body. Because it has the most fat accumulation, it'll also be the first place where your body goes for calories.

      Anonymous

You should always do some cardio. It doesn't have to be the focus of your routine but it's important to get at least 30 minutes per day just for general health.

If your target weight is within a healthy BMI range, cut to your desired bodyfat percentage. Every morning after you use the bathroom and before you consume food or water, take your bodyweight. At the end of each week, take an average of your bodyweight. Each week compare that average to last week's average. If you lost less than 0.5% of your bodyweight, reduce calories by 10%. If you lost more than 1% of your bodyweight, increase calories by 10%. If you lost within that range, keep your calories the same. Get about 1g of protein per lbs of bodyweight, and fill in the rest of your calories with whatever you want. Make sure you're following a well constructed strength and hypertrophy program. By the time you hit your goal bodyfat percentage, you'll have some noobie gains, and you'll no longer be skinny fat.

If your target weight is in the underweight BMI category, you need to bulk first. Again, every morning after you use the bathroom and before you consume food or water, take your bodyweight. At the end of each week, take an average of your bodyweight. Each week compare that average to last week's average. If you gain less than 0.3 lbs, increase calories by 10%. If you gain more than 0.8 lbs, decrease calories by 10%. Follow a well constructed weight an hypertrophy program. Do this until the weight you need to cut to to be at your goal is within the healthy BMI range. Then cut to your desired bodyfat percentage

cut till 12-10%, then go clean bulk

i just dont get why you would cut to fricking 10-12% as a skinnyfat with 0 muscle, he will have to bulk back up again
im 19% bf atm bulking as a skinnyfat because i don't care about looking like shit, my lifts werent going up at all while cutting at 5'6 58kg

you want to bulk and look like shit which is fine

Start with whatever, it really doesn't matter in the long run that involves several bulk/cut cycles anyways. Personallly I started with a bulk, but that's because I was in a rather decent shape for a dyel and knew I can stick to the eventual cut. If you're honest with yourself and worry you may fail to cut after bulking and stay a fatass, start with a cut.

    need advice
I had a blockage in my colon last year and it made me drop down to a little over 100 pounds at 5'10, I am nearly 130 now from eating and have been trying to walk and go outside regularly. Should I focus on getting up to a higher weight first or start lifting?

long time ago when i was 240 at 6'2 i thought i just get the diet right first for a week or 2 then start lifting while i cut. over time and many mistakes later i realized that was cope and i really think you should attack both at the same time.
