Any anons who started skinny and have made respectable gains? How long did it take until you noticed a difference? Any advice appreciated.
Also feel free to roast me, I want to know what needs improvement and what my limitations are

>I want to know what needs improvement
You.
>and what my limitations are
You.
Fair enough lol.
But like specifically, what should I be working on to look better?
Just lift and eat enough calories and protein
lose (fat) weight and start working out! simple as. i would say you could work on your posture also. when i started out i was significantly skinnier than you - that is, if by skinny you mean lean. i noticed results almost immediately. it will take some time with you because you aren't so lean.
Yummy Yummy me playing with that cute Tummy
:3c
Are you a israelite or a neo pagan larper? Anyway happy Hanukkah
9 months for myself to notice a difference, like 15 months for others to notice that I started lifting, a little less than 2 years for most people to think I am not DYEL anymore and around 2.5 years to not look DYEL by IST standards anymore.
Thanks for the response. Can I ask how often you worked out and what your caloric intake was like?
Not the guy, but I concur with what he said. In the beginning just start lifting and eating a lot. A lot of protein and calories. When I started I went to the gym 3 times a week. Once it is in your system and you enjoy it, you might go five times a week. Just try to make eating more and lifting a habit, don't overcomplicate the details.
I did all kinds of different routines in that time but all of them were 4-6 days per week but I did not stick to the 6 day routines that long because I personally need 1 more rest day. I ate as much as I could, from my starting point to somewhere around 2.5 years later I had gained 40lbs which left me with like 10lbs to cut to be sixpack lean. My diet is very high in protein, mostly from dairy and meat, and either high in carbs or high in fats but typically not both at the same time.
also, ahoy there from Fife! where in Scotland do you reside?
I started doing calisthenics in mid-2020 at 5'11, 110 lbs; was around 130 when I started lifting in early 2023; am now around 145. Still have toothpick legs but upper body looks decent by normie standards. I started noticing a difference within 3 months, friends started noticing within like 6 (not that I looked good, but at least that I looked less like a prisoner of war). Eating consistently is key; I find it easy to eat a lot on days when I work and lift, but then on rest days feeding myself seems like a chore.
>5'11 110 lbs
How
I'm 5'5 and I look underweight at 120 lbs
Wouldn't say that I've got respectable gains, but I went from 65 kg to 85 kg while staying lean.
Took a year of stuffing myself with food(grain + protein) every day. Literally was bloated most of the time and had stomach farts during the work.
How do you even get this way? This is not a normal human physique
Can you even do a pushup? Serious question.
I had a significantly worse body than you throughout uni. I'm 193cm but weighed only 70kg. Then got fat and got to 110kg by the end of third year. Fourth year I got skinny fat at around 95kg. I would blame depression and all that gay shite, but truthfully I was just a lazy fricker eating and drinking however and whatever I wanted.
Left uni and decided to stop fricking around. literally 12 months will undo 22+ years of fricked up diet/training habits. Read the sticky, eat a slight surplus of calories (roughly) and keep your protein high. Do nothing but compound movements + whatever isolation exercises you feel like.
Will that make you look like a greek God? Or is it the most efficient way? No, but it'll make you better looking than 99% of the population and would have built a good habit. If I can do it anyone can. YGMI
First thing I'd if I were you I'd fix my fricking posture. Next is I'd tear down that fricking Star of David thats on my wall kek. whatever the hell that shit is. Your frame is fine though, and clearly you're thin but you're not ridiculously gangly. If you're strapped for time I'd recommend mike menzters' heavy duty, though I wouldnt do that in a home gym. drink a lot of milk, reduce stress with meditation and yoga, and sleep a lot.
