Everyone says a different thing. I'm trying to escape skinnyfat hell for 1 month and a half now, been on a -300/500 cal deficit but I have no idea if this is the right approach, my TDEE is pretty low aswell (1700), yes I'm manlet and skinnyfat.
>dr mike says to eat close to maintenance
>some anons tell me to bulk
>some tell me to cut
What the fuck I'm supposed to do? I'm lifting 5 days a week and doing 30 min LISS cardio everyday, always trying to push myself to failure. I'm not picrel.
bulk. even if you lean out youre still gonna look like shit because youll go from skinnyfat to just twink. start eating more and lifting heavier.
>dr mike says to eat close to maintenance
>some anons tell me to bulk
>some tell me to cut
Whatever you do, just do it consistently. If you want to maintain then maintain. If you want to weight cycle then do it. In the long run it doesn't matter if you start with a bulk or a cut. Stop posting start lifting
You have to make the choice; you either go skeletonmode or accept getting fatter
cut until a bit leaner, lift heavy
gain a bit of muscle and lose fat at same time. dnt be autistic and try to go full no fat, just get a bit leaner
then start bulking on small surplus
and be patient dont expect big things especially when ur cutting at the beginning
Not OP, I'm 181cm 74kg currently, about 16% body fat. I've been out of the gym for about 3 months so I've gained some belly fat and love handles, slavic Christmas will do that to you. I'm back in the gym, minimum 4 times a week. I don't do much cardio apart from walking a minimum of 45m a day or so. What's the best way to lose the lower belly fat? I'm also switching to my cut meals only, meaning tuna, chicken, cottage cheese, turkey etc. I don't want a le ebin 6 pack abs, just to shed the extra fat I gathered during my hiatus
Get pounded by a man 10 x 4 should get rid of ONLY the lower belly fat
Coming from someone who quit skinnyfat mode, cut. I can help if you have any questions
the duality of men
How long it took you to escape it? How hard was it to progress on lifts while cutting.
>How long it took you to escape it?
4-5 months, started on skinnyfat on March, was skinky by July and fairly lean by August
>How hard was it to progress on lifts while cutting.
I wouldn't know because I started cutting and lifting on the same day.
Body recomp. Go on a bulk and lift heavy, I went auschwitz fizek with a gut from taking the cut too far in an attempt to get to a "normal" bmi. Fucked me up good and I had to go built-fat to escape it. I went slightly dirty and spammed out lats and traps to detract from the gut and it greatly evened things out. Had no rest days either for a solid 5 months during the first phase of it all.
It'll be a long process, just eat and lift bro.
Skinnyfat is not a fucking thing. If you're over 15-16% bodyfat, you should not be bulking. Simple as.
This is what I'm saying. Why would I bulk if I'm like 18-20% bf.
Why is 18-20% the cap off? Recent studies have said that p-ratio caps off around 25%, in fact your gains might be even leaner because of the body fat percentage.
Because anyone past 20% bodyfat is a full blown fatass
That's my estimate, i don't think I'm below 15% because I can barely see my abs.
Skinnyfat means you are a noob
Do a beginner program and gain weight (at a reasonable pace, not with pizzas and ice cream) for 3-6 months. Don't be afraid to look like shit as long as you put on size. From there you cut and then you can reevaluate. Before steroids there would be lifters who would bulk up to over 30% bodyfat and then cut down to basically look like modern physique competitors, but that's a bit too far for health and takes very long.
Cut, but be sure to get plenty of protein. Work out like you normally would.
Lose fat = eat at a deficit. Gain muscle = working out and eating a bit of protein.
So logically, eat at a deficit, eat protein and work out. It's simple
start off with a 40lb backpack for 5 miles twice a week. Move to 3x after a few weeks.
