Smoking is... LE BAD!

>The government really cares about your health that's why they promoted SSRIs and opioids for decades.
>The government really cares about your health that's why they're legalizing weed.
>The government really cares about your health that's why they haven't banned alcohol the same way they're banning smoking (ban it for anyone born after 2009).
>The government really cares about your health that's why people are getting fatter, dumber, and more mentally ill.

The REAL reason they banned smoking is because it keeps you sharp and focused and helps the thinker relax. They don't want thinkers. They want worker bees (100 iq). High IQs are prone to mental illnesses. Smoking helped them relax, but also helped them keep their mental powers. Now they instead want you to drown yourself in fast food, alcohol, SSRIs, shit that will lower your IQ down to the middling level, so that you are right where they want you: smart enough to function and work, but not smart enough to think outside of the box.

There is also a 1:1 correlation between smoking rates going down and mental illness + obesity skyrocketing, go figure.

But what about people with anaduralia?

The smartest human being I ever interacted with described lacking any type of inner monologue or imagery. We grew up neighbours, it was amazing how he just knew and understood things even when we were very young. He even described not actively thinking ever, all he ever does is be aware as he describes it.

High IQ are not prone to mental illness. Low IQ people are more disposed to have "mental illness". Barring severe malnourishment in childhood reducing your IQ: it is fixed, it is based on your genetics and you cannot change it for the better, though the things you listed could be assumed to have a negative effect. You don't have to larp as high IQ to justify your smoking.

      >The Relationship between Intelligence and Anxiety: An Association with Subcortical White Matter Metabolism
      >We have demonstrated in a previous study that a high degree of worry in patients with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) correlates positively with intelligence
      >In conclusion, we are able to demonstrate activation of a common neural substrate, the subcortical white matter, which varies parametrically with both anxiety and worry in a positive manner. This suggests that what we have labeled as maladaptive – pathological anxiety – co-evolved with the attribute that is viewed as most adaptive, human intelligence.

      >The results showed that highly intelligent people are 20% more likely to be diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), 80% more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD, 83% more likely to be diagnosed with anxiety, and 182% more likely to develop at least one mood disorder.

to spell it out, the error here is having such faith in the government to think they can consistently give only harmful advice. A compass that points south is just as useful for navigation as a company that points north.

you're kind of right but for the wrong reasons. it's not about controlling the minds of workers, it's more simple than that. tobacco was a cash crop for like three centuries in america, but eventually got replaced by more profitable crops like sugar cane, onions, corn, etc. once tobacco stopped being an economic engine, the government lost its incentive to protect the industry and promote its marketing, allowing them to finally say "cigarettes bad" out loud. you can see the same thing starting to happen again with sugar, which is currently destroying rural american populations the same way tobacco did in the 1970s/80s/90s
