So are you going to tell the tik tok zoomer trend following sheep that Mike Memezer built his base with conventional bodybuilding training and not heavy duty, or do I have to?

Nah he won following Nautilus which wasn't one set but it still wasn't Joe Weider bullshit.

He built it with one to two sets per exercise, one to two exercises per body part, with 2X a week frequency. Slice it any way you want, it's still lower volume than mainstream recommendations.
I'm not even a HIT defender, I believe in training a muscle with a pretty normal frequency, just with fewer sets than commonly prescribed

He did that when he was 19?

High intensity training is fun and it works.

I do 2working sets and rest-pauses a lot as well though.

You might want to pay closer attention to his axe wound. Mustaches haven’t been in since the 80’s and even then they were super gay. Only other explanation is you have shit lips and that homosexual dead rat does a better job of hiding it.

    >Mike Memezer built his base with conventional bodybuilding training and not heavy duty
    That's rather untrue.

He said he only began to experience significant growth with his trainings, after nearly giving up body building many times.

Isn’t his entire routine built on machine lifts? I watched a video of him breaking down his basic chest leg leg arm program and even his squats are in a fricking smith machine. And he says to do heavy leg extensions? Haven’t we thrown those in the trash for how bad they frick up a person’s knees?

he believed machines were superior to free weights specifically the nautilus machines which were new at the time

Hes like a vegan that claims he's successful because of his plant based homosexualry. When in reality he ate meat for years (excessive protein stores in the liver for survival) then made the switch. Mentzer used conventional methods to get big and strong, then claimed high intensity is the only way to train

By your logic, the only program that I could ever recommend to someone is Stronglifts 5x5 because that's what I started with, regardless of the fact that my progress on that program came to a complete halt (I see now why it's considered a "beginner" program). Does that really make sense?
Also by that logic, Arnold can only recommend powerlifting, because that's what he did before bodybuilding. For him to recommend a high-volume bodybuilding program is deceitful because that's not "how he built his base". Of course, this is also completely ridiculous.

Arnold never fricking did powerlifting before bodybuilding. He did insane high volume from the get-go. I don't know how this rumor started but it's fricking bullshit.

So if you want to look like Arnold, you need to do Olympic weightlifting. If Arnold tells you otherwise, he's leading you astray. He built his base on olympic weightlfting.

You can build your base with any routine, that’s the point.

Once you get to an intermediate level you need high intensity to grow so you need to follow a mentzner like approach

What we can all get from Mentzer is that you should not go to the gym every day like am autist. Every other day at least, to allow for some rest.

Also, stop doing sleepy workouts where you just go through the motions.
Lift heavy and then get the hell out of the gym and go to your house to get some rest.
