        I have 9k IU a day, it makes a very big difference for me compared to 3k or 6k IU. Make sure the capsules are gelcaps, or, better yet - if you can eat it with dinner, do it.

    I take 10k during the winter (with k2). It's virtually impossible to overdose as long as you take it with k2. And even 10k is low compared to how much you'd get from sunlight.

          You have zero idea what you're talking about.
          The reason we say 10k as the maximum amount and 5k as the reasonable amount is because based off the average daily calcium intake it's either not possible at those dosages to reach D3 toxicity or if reached it would be a minor form of toxin and drinking enough water would be enough to flush it out of your body.

          Now here you are like a Bogan fricking tool saying hurr hurr taking absurd levels of D3 every day for months?
          30 minutes of undiluted mid day sun is 20k IU. Assuming two hours of constant activity without any blocking of the sun and maximum physical absorption of nearly the entire body would be 80k IU.
          So unless you are nude outdoors non-stop in the sun it would be completely implausible for you to get over 100k IUs naturally and it wouldn't be every single day, you would have multiple days a week where the number would dip down. Not to mention in the summer heat you would be more often in shade than not.

          So here you are telling someone to take 100k IU of D3, plus their natural sun absorption rates and i'm the butthole?

          10k IU is more than enough to do what supplements are suppose to do

        Lol. Shit I've been taking 10k a day on my skin, getting a ton of shirtless time in the sun even in winter. And another 10k a day from supplements! My blood pressure is checked every 2 months donating blood and it's in the ideal range. Not good range. Ideal. And I feel great.
        If you were moronic and took 200,000iu a day for many months you may develop some problems. If you eat 200,000 grains of dirt a day you may also develop problems too.

    Had a flare-up of psoriasis building up since the previous month with increasing pruritus (especially during the night) and skin flaking

    Started 10k IUs per day a week ago and already feel better; itching is gone and the affected skin is also getting back to normal

    I believe anything bellow 10k is safe, if you go above 10k for extended periods of time (think months) you should consider K2 to avoid calcification

    So all tge morons on /fit have learned they need d3 and 1k a day is not enough. What they didn't learn is that if you are going to megadose with d3, keep in mind:
    >it's fat soluble. Our body absorbs it only when d3 is fully surrounded by fat. So if you take it while eating no fat, nothing is absorbed. If you are taking it together with fatty food, 30-50% is absorbed. If you taking it in a gel capsule with omega3, evoo, avocado or cocunut oil, 80-90% is absorbed. So the dude saying 10k iu, migh be absorbing from 0 to 9kiu...
    >it's safe only if you are not deficient in k2, magnesium, boron. You need to supplement those. K2 and boron controls calcium metabolism. Magnesium is an enzime that our body uses to activate d3.
    >if you have a shitty diet or a shitty microbiom, you might get defficient on b vitamins, on vit a, on zinc. But you have to be extremely careful with supplementing those as too much of any of those will frick you up. Easier with zinc (just look up zinc copper balance), incredibly hard with b vitamins.

    I took 50k IUs a day for 6 months with no adverse affects. subjectively, I had many positive effects, but after dropping the dose to 10k I haven't noticed any significant difference. At the very least it would seem megadosing isn't unsafe.

      Yes, it's true. We get it from uvb affecting our skin. Uvb reacher the earth only when the angle of the sun is above 30 degrees. You get enough of uvb only when it's above 45%. Where I'm this will happen only in 88 days.

    Around 500iu or 10mcg is fine. i got toxic levels by taking 5k iu and felt like fricking dogshit. Literally constant nausea, felt like vomiting and had to take a piss all the time.

    I live in Finland and even without any d vitamin supps (not even the 500iu) my d vitamin levels were perfect in my blood test. Overdosing on d vitamin is probably one of the biggest baits I ever fell into. So fricking stupid, at least get your levels checked before to see if you even need it. And if you dont, well dont fricking take toxic levels or any at all preferrably.
