My wife is a hair loss treatment specialist at a top clinic in Japan (won't name, but I've helped out there a fair bit with their international stuff) and from her experience, the best responses come from Finasteride and Minoxidil. Yes they offer special shampoos, massages and a bit of what you described and for some people that works. I will not deny that. But the people who do benefit from thinks like massage and "natural" remedies are usually those who are suffering from things that aren't male pattern baldness.

I take finasteride, use rosemary oil, and use minoxidil. I started finasteride about a year ago and haven't had any of the really scary side effects like depression or loss of libido. I started the latter two four months ago and have gotten LOADS of compliments on my hairline from close friends. I had a slight recede, so wasn't starting from a horrible place, but am really satisfied with the results.

I've been in fin for about 2 years. I also am on TRT and Cialis. My hair has stopped falling out but hasn't really regrown at all. My boner is about 90% of what it used to be as well even with TRT and Cialis. For now I will keep using it. I'm experimenting with growing my hair out like Jesus and if it still looks bad or not great I will just start doing a buzz cut and stop the fin.

I didn't notice my hair regrow at all but I also didn't notice any further loss. When I stopped taking it I ended up having aggressive hair loss.
As far as side effects, it completely gutted my sex drive. I was pretty much asexual and sterile. I had heard from channels like Haircafe and shit that DHT was useless and direct Testostrone was responsible for sex drive, meaning that DHT inhibitors like finasteride won't affect it. In my personal experience, unfortunately, this wasn't true at all. This is the main reason why I decided to screw it and stop taking it. I just kept using topical minox and I hadn't seen any side effects from that.
I have no clue if it affected muscle building or anything like that. I didn't notice anything there. I also didn't feel tired or anything.

If you prioritize keeping/regrowing hair over libido, then go ahead and use finastride. Apparently some people don't even lose their libido if they are telling the truth, but at least in my case I did. Even when I was taking it, it wasn't terribly effective but it could be a totally different story for you.
Side note; I am 22. I started balding suuper young. If you are an older guy (or the same age) you might not have the same experience, but in my experience the loss of sex drive didn't seem worth the slight slowing of hair loss.

I was taking it for a few weeks I think, but I noticed the drop in libido pretty much immediately (like the 2nd or 3rd day taking it). I was gonna stick it out if the hair gains were huge but they really weren't and it only slightly slowed the hair loss.
In retrospect It was more like a couple of months. Definitely more than "a few weeks".
