If you're severely overweight, eating a vegan or fruitarian diet could be a good short-term solution, simply because your body would enter fasting mode. But do not stay on it longer than like a month or two or you'll develop nutrient deficiencies. I say this as someone who went vegan for several years, felt great for the first few months, and then started wasting away and almost lost my mind. I was always pretty thin though, so I've never used a vegan diet specifically to shed excess pounds.

How long did you try them for, and how strict were you with it? I lost 80 pounds on keto, but you have to actually keep track of your macros, just like any other diet, and be strict. If you never made it to being fat adapted which can take like up to 2 months, then you didn't really give it a shot.
Keto, I made my own fried chicken and made my own double downs with chicken, bacon and cheese, but just gained weight.
CICO, I cut to 1750 cals a day for 6 months but didn't lose a single pound.

It doesn't sound like you tracked anything on keto at least, so you didn't really do it at all. Also if you weren't losing weight in the first 2-3 weeks at 1750 calories on CICO, why did you keep eating the same amount of calories for 6 months instead of dropping the calories? None of what you're saying makes any sense. No diet is immune to calories in vs calories out dude. It's the same no matter what diet you're on. If you're not losing weight, adjust your calories whether that be eating less, or burning more. You have to track your macros, its that simple. There are so many apps out there now to track, its easy as frick.

Fruititarian is dumb. I've been doing salad, eggs and plant based protein in a 1-2 hour eating window daily. Three weeks and I'm down 15lbs. Cico obviously works so pay attention to olive oil calories, croutons and other junk and also you need to burn calories so work out.
