In order to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you intake? How is that physically possible? If the human body needs 1500-2000 calories per day, but you can only realistically burn around 500 per day, you'd never get into a deficit. And then in order to gain lean muscle mass you need to eat, therefore you'd never lose weight.

All you need is a slight surplus or maintenance for consistent muscle growth. You could definitely still grow muscle if you are eating enough protein on a deficit. You are right though, that exercise is not a substitute for eating like a fat ass. Because the body is very efficient when it comes to energy expenditure, storage and conversion.

This. Hunger/Starvation is a natural part of human biology. It’s uncomfortable, sure. But it’s not gonna kill you to stop eating so much.
Your body uses glycogen and triglycerides as fuel when you are eating a deficit.
