>still fricking hurts too bad to do anything

probably just the nerve or some shit. 200 mg ibuprofen 3 times a day for a week. Put it in a brace while you're sleeping. Don't try rehab shit like rice bucket and such until after it's stopped hurting for a while you'll just reaggravate it. Apart from that check with your doctor to see if you have an inflammatory condition because that can be serious shit down the line.
I wore a brace for two weeks 24/7 because doc told me to. It helped a little but that was almost 3 weeks ago. There's no way just taking ibuprofen will help, will it? It hurts to put weight on it, like pushups. I can do more than a few.
Frick, man. It didn't even hurt at the time, only the next day. I don't even know what I did to injure it, just that I was rock climbing.
Can't*
I'm 22. So will I eventually be able to use it like normal? Should I go to a PT?
>I'm 22. So will I eventually be able to use it like normal? Should I go to a PT?
bruh when they say don't use your fricking hand, they mean literally don't use your fricking hand.
You're suppose to have a brace and arm slung.
After the wait period if it hasn't gotten any better you need to see a real fricking professional, because you might not have sprained your wrist.
You might have had a tendon caught or a nerve compressed.
Which is a lot more than just a sprained wrist.
At this point 2 months later you should see a specialist flat out regardless of what anyone thinks.
>don't use your hand
Who said that? Nobody told me that.
>You're supposed to have a brace and arm sling
Again, nobody told me that. Wtf are you talking about? How am I supposed to just avoid using my hand for months on end when I have a job? Anyway I took the brace off when the doctor told me to because she said it would get stiff if I didn't.
>Just self diagnose bro
You are seriously moronic.
Okay for future reference.
If you ever have a sharp or sudden pain. not an ache, but an acute "ow that fricking hurts".
You should minimize movement of said body part entirely. for supposed sprains after a few day period you if you lightly move it and it still hurts, you should see a doctor.
It does not take long for sprains to heal, most people can recover even as early as a day or so later and the movement actually feels better.
2 months later is not a sprain or it's not as simple as a normal sprain.
>nobody told me that
it's not their body is it newbie? it's yours and you should be more proactive.
>doctor told me to remove it
yeah and the doctor should have given you a timeline on when pain should be gone.
Did you not think to ask?
Something along the lines of "after 2 weeks if it still hurts come back."
>Small injuries take months to heal
>But if you don't feel better after one day you destroyed your wrist forever
Anon you're shitposting now.
As a YOUNG man, if you roll an ankle or sprain your wrist it should feel better after a few days.
As a grown man injuries take longer to heal due to compounding inefficiency within the body.
This is pretty basic biology.
You are 2 months out from an injury and you seriously are so moronic to think that it's as simple as a sprained wrist?
You literally just contradicted yourself.
Nothing I said contradicts anything.
You said you are 22 years old.
A young man.
A sprain wrist should be almost entirely healed within 2 weeks and by 6 weeks be back to normal entirely.
An older man not running the high of teenage hormones and with compounding inefficiency due to an aging body will take longer to heal.
look if you have a learning disability just say so, I can dumb this down further for you little buddy.
>As a YOUNG man, if you roll an ankle or sprain your wrist it should feel better after a few days.
You...never had a sprain obviously.
I've had a sprain before.
Wrist, ankle, shoulder. All mostly healed within a week. Full recovery within a month.
Anon once again, if you have a learning disability just say so.
>Wrist, ankle, shoulder. All mostly healed within a week. Full recovery within a month.
>Anon once again, if you have a learning disability just say so.
You should take your pills bro.
Also, you never had a serious sprain, I can tell. You're American, correct?
>All mostly healed within a week.
Those were not sprains.
>sprain
>including but not limited to muscle tear
>taking more than a week to be able to use again
Anon i'm sorry for your moronation. You have my sympathies.
>teared muscle heals in a week
You don't even know what spraining means, Pajeet. Frick off.
>being this mad you have the body of an 80 year old at age 22
Guarantee you're Canadian.
>Wrist, ankle, shoulder. All mostly healed within a week. Full recovery within a month.
Hey Wolverine, a sprain takes 4 weeks to 4 months to heal, just google it.
Google 2-3 days for a mild sprain.
2 weeks for a moderate sprain.
Doesn't say 4 weeks until severe sprain.
So... you can sign for this L now or i'll just give it to your mom later.
>There's no way just taking ibuprofen will help, will it?
yes it's a very a narrow passage for the nerve even the slightest amount of inflammation can pinch it. AFTER it's done healing do something like ulnar nerve glides to try to prevent it in the future. There's mixed results on use of nsaids in treating tendinopathy but it's usually positive when it's at this stage.
>It hurts to put weight on it, like pushups. I can do more than a few.
would you fricking stop jesus christ.
>Would you stop
I'm not doing exercise with it for the record. Every once in a while I just do a few to see how it feels. That can't be that bad right? I haven't done any exercise with it since the injury.
I'm done, go see a doctor.
Idk what crawled up your ass but alright
I realized I'm talking with an idiot and no amount of advice or reasonable caution is going to make a difference. If you were responsible, patient or inquisitive enough to get to the bottom of this without professional intervention you would have been healed by now.
I sprained mine by hittin a heavy bag with my palm. It taught me 2 things:
1) Palm strikes are useless
2) It takes months to heal a sprained wrist
It went away on its own after weeks of resting and doing movements that didn't hurt. It was horrible and seemed to be permanent for a while.
Also, ngl, crossing myself 3 times over the hurting spot helped a bunch, too (trad German treatment for back pain/Hexenschuss usually). Was unsure about posting this, but there you go.
Welcome to not being a teenager anymore.
After 24 it takes months to heal even basic injuries and serious injuries take years.
>After 24 it takes months to heal even basic injuries and serious injuries take years.
Holy shit, your health must be complete shit. American, correct? Whooooboy.
You think AC joint dysfunction takes less than 1 year to heal as an adult?
You've never had an actual injury have you.
>You've never had an actual injury have you.
I had more than your entire family combined. Not kidding here, I'm accident-prone af.
Still, I never had the brain damage you're showing symptoms of.
I'm trans btw not sure if that matters
Don't just do nothing, you should be doing low impact wrist exercises while trying to recover. It's entirely possible you misdiagnosed what the problem is, though, so you really should be talking to a physiotherapist about this.
