I started lifting at 17, but i was a lazy piece of shit and never cared about diet. It took me almost 10 years to understand what i'm actually doing.

this. lifting isn't when it starts, it starts when you get diet+etc on point

      this

I dieted hard, lost the weight but never really UNDERSTOOD dieting or proper training. 26 now and finally learning. Made like 75% of my gains in the last year and a half, only just now getting to a physique that is beyond normal natty gym-goer, and due in part to a little PED assistance too. Who cares I'm still reaping all the benefits in my late 20's

You are injecting hormones into yourself. You failed to do one of the most basic human male functions, exercise and recover, without exogenous hormone use.

    >lifted weights since 16
    >got diagnosed late at 22 with hypogonadism so made zero gains for all the hard work I put in.

I had the test levels of a 90 yo man.

That's a long time to go undiagnosed. Did you get tested because you were concerned you didn't make any gains for SIX YEARS?

I mean, at that age I would've been worried if I wasn't making gains in six MONTHS.

NTA, but he may have not had many symptoms. I went nearly a decade undiagnosed with hypothyroidism which effects test levels and I still had a lot of muscle mass

many such cases of ultra low-T men still making gains. You have good genetics in the sense of building muscle. Hop on TRT and you're a IFBB bodybuilder level responder suddenly

I had many of the symptoms. It’s not really common for doctors to check hormone levels and I just had no knowledge/awareness of testosterone and how a lack of it can affect you.

I just kept dieting and exercising because that’s all I was told about becoming healthy. I hadn’t considered that I had an endocrine disorder.

I'm 45. Started lifting as a teen. Guess what? Wouldn't have made too much of a difference if I started at 22 instead.

I'v started at 33. Now I'm 38, I look infinitely better than most of people around me. I look great, plus I have money and status. I'm dating girls in 22-28 age bracket and going to marry one next year. Also, I've started boxibg two months ago. My only regret is that I haven't started sooner.
Study, work, lift, do martial arts. You have 11 years head start - just imaging the greatness you will archive at my age!

I never started making real gains until I was 28, I guess the old man / dad strength meme kicked in.

I remember being 20 and having a hard time repping 155, now I'm nearing 30 and doing double that despite losing my gains when covid shut the gyms down. Gains just come easier now too, and I'm enjoying lifting more. To a point where the gains are a side effect of me just doing something I enjoy and taking care of myself.

Do you think these percentages are reflective of how close I am to reaching 1/2/3/4 (60kg overhead press, 100kg benchpress, 140kg squat, and 180kg deadlift)?

    OHP - 47.5kg is 79% of 60kg

    Benchpress - 60kg is 60% of 100kg

    Squat - 100kg is 71% of 140kg

    Deadlift - 112.5kg is 62.5% of 180kg

These are my one rep maxes. I have been doing starting strength for two months.

    28 years old
    85kg
    181cm

How long should I expect it to take to one rep max 1/2/3/4? :*~~

I'm 35 and started lifting a few months ago, I could barely deadlift or bench 85lbs when I started.
Currently at 205 deadlift and 135 bench press, I wanna try squats but the equipment at the work gym is kinda jank so I've only been doing 100lbs with dumbbells.
